Very very interesting. Have you found your rig needing to crank more, or does it fire right up like stock?
This. No diagram should be showing the resistors on the output of the FIC, but on the input (or what would be considered the output of the OEM sensors and maybe thats where the confusion happened).

I really really like the o2 skewing feature on the FIC- its integrated (not some other box, not some analog box with rheostats but a tune-able map) but now that I have a piggy that also has an automatic transmission shifting additional timing retard map, I can't go back. I also really like the map switching feature on the FIC, but again, just can't go back (and the EMU can be modified to do this).

    Stuff and junk and things...
That will not happen with the stock ECU no matter what piggy back you run.

You can richen closed loop boost which is the same thing as your trying to do with making it go open loop.

Your best solution would be to ditch the ECU for engine management got with a haltech.

    https://www.lceperformance.com/SNP-2RZ-3RZ-Haltech-and-Adapter-Kit-p/1020206.htm

FYI you also loose your emissions monitors and will not pass.

I just ran the base map on the 7th in my 2000, had no issues.

good to know. I’ll be the first to say I’m probably gonna need help when it comes to tuning if I go the AEM route

I actually decided to start running methonal about 6 months ago and love it. Filling about every 2 weeks, not a big deal.

You should pop the hood, take the nozzle out, and position it where you can see it. Turn the truck on and find a way to activate the meth controller. If it bleeds off when it should be off go to a larger nozzle.

mine did this and I think it was pooling* in the intake when it hit the closed throttle plate. You don’t want that.

    EDIT: spelling.

    Interesting
    Might have to try that

I have the new system that has a purge button inside the cab along with the control module which is also inside the cab

    Shouldn’t be hard at all

Every setup will probably be a little different depending on altitude, pulley size, MAF, methonal mixture, fic6, 7th injector setup, if you have replaced the fuel pump, etc.
I’m using a nozzel #4 and go through a gallon per tank or two tanks, depending on the lead foot of gas.
I make my own methonal mixture from a 5 gallon bucket of pure methonal that cost 35.00 Or so, so I can make my mixture run leaner or richer.
    No fic6, no 7th injection

message me if you need help programming closed loop AFR (Still study the timing tune)

I’m in the process of building a thread but don’t know for sure when it will be ready

Boomslang is expensive but totally worth it in my opinion

call them and ask for a combination deal to include the extension so you can keep your passenger side air vent

if you use the boom sling harness it is bulky and has about 6” leads. I spent about two hours trying to find a way to push the harness back behind the glovebox shroud and was unsuccessful. Therefore I had to remove the tube that goes from one side of the area behind the glove box to the passenger side vent and placed the Boom sling harness there. Therefore I had to remove the tube that goes from one side of the area behind the glove box to the passenger side vent and placed the boom sling harness there. Once you get behind the glove box you’ll see what I’m talking about. The biggest problem is that the stock wires off the truck are too short
This is why I highly suggest buying the extension from Boomslang

Check out this issue I’m having

2000 RPM in overdrive and sometimes in third gear going less than 55 miles per hour. Erratic AFR! @TMFF has suggested I bypass the FIC and try to get it to do it again, which I plan to do this weekend.

It’s at ~2000 RPM when it is doing this:

I was having that issue. These are the things I’ve done and haven’t had that issue since.

I changed the point at which the closed loop enrichment kicks in from 1psi to 3psi.

I tuned the extra injector and methanol to spray at higher load so I’m not adding fuel in that situation.

I added timing retard in that area.

If I can remember to upload it I will. I’ve got one of those ping happy motors. It’s quite a bit but it’s the only way I could stop the ping.

Try to have the timing retard in that area the same number so there’s no transitions. Maybe that will help.

    That would be awesome

I know it’s a pain to get your laptop and plug it in and everything, all I need is a picture of the map to give me a idea and starting point.

I was thinking along the same lines, but only with the AFR maps, but the timing makes since too. I have not messed with the timing yet because I’m nervous about it. I heard to start with 1 degree per pound of boost, but other then that I’m not sure. Just want to fix this problem so I can drive normal..lol
