I checked and it's the bezel itself -- as if the weight of the mount w/ the phone is now causing the bezel to flex (which results in creaking).

 

I have a phone and tablet on my mount and have done some pretty rough trails. Not a peep on mine.

Good luck hunting it down, those kind of things drive me nuts!

 

Nice work, I would like to do the same thing. Where did you tap into 12v for the USB ports?

 

The DSM does unfortunately have a about 1/4 of the support the DMM has so with very bumpy roads, heavy accesories or long arms there's a chance of that happening. But we want to fix it so lets just try to figure out exactly what it is... we know you're on a gravel road which shouldn't be a problem, what kind of device, arm and holder are you using?

I figured it’s flexing since it’s located on the very edge of the corner.

I have an iPhone X, RAM X-Grip mount, and a RAM arm attached to the 1” ball (you provided the ball).

 

yeah none of those seem like they would be an obvious cause for the squeeking...

A little late to the party and it appears that I missed the sale

 

In the back of the arkon phone mount there is a ball with the little plastic feet that mounts to the phone mount. What part is that and how much are they?

Hello I’m thinking of getting a DMM but was wondering where I could purchase these magnetic holders? I like the minimal space they take from my line of sight , thank you.

I’m not sure how those magnets attach but from the picture it looks like they are glued onto the 1” ball itself.

No glue. It’s a steel ball that the back of the magnet attaches to. Allows you to adjust the viewing angle as you like.
