It was on winter mix and I do have some weight (bumpers) added to the vehicle. This is a 12 mile run at 60mph with a short 30 mph segment through a small town then back to 65mph. It’s a routine drive and thus I’m able to get a fair comparison.

Also, I dropped from ~18mpg down to 15-16 once winter mix was fully deployed. I do get better mileage on longer highway runs.

Aren't the atx an E load tire ? I was looking at them earlier and I think mid 50s.

Also winter blend fuels hit hard.

none yet... i just got the damn truck!
Alrighty, I after talking with my mechanic a while back, I just got my truck back from getting the break in oil changed. I opted to go for the 1000 mile break in due to having the REM polish. Getting the initial break j. Took way longer mostly because I had to have extensive shoulder surgery and couldn't drive for about 3 weeks. All in all its ilso much better mileage and performance wise. With 285/75/16 BFG KO2 on VTX terras I can average anywhere between 15-18 mph constantly. I track it all on my scan gauge and while yeah the mileage dips when I go up some steep hills in my area or when I gotta get in the pedal, the overall boost in power is well worth it. No more gear hunting. Now I just gotta wait for OVtune to get back up and running.

This is true. With 265/75/17 tires I also get 18-20 mpgs on highway drives. Cruising around town feathering the gas (as long as I miss stop lights) mpgs can surpass 21mpg often. The stop and go kills the mpgs.

I drove 400 miles towing my boat in the below pictured setup (not that specific day) and got 17.1mpg per tank (85w-140 gear oil up to 1400 miles).

Switching over from the 85w-140 gear oil back to 75w-90, especially in the cold months seems to drive smoother too. Draining that 85w-140 was like draining Elmer’s glue in the cold even after a 2 minute drive

so I got a quote from them and it seemed very inexpensive. Did you end up going with the revolution or nitro gears? How’s the warranty? This company legit?

So I am looking at taking my truck here as well. The price is really inexpensive and was just wondering how yours is holding up? Would you recommend them? Did you use nitro gears?

How is it holding up? Did you buy nitro gears? His family owns a business in riverside and been talking with them.

Gears have been perfect. They are nitro gears.

The day has arrived. Tomorrow AM heading to Mule OVS for 4.88 regear on my MT. Primary mission are ARB Air Lockers and dual compressor. Tertiary for no extra charge are RWD only harness and switch plus ADM. Driveline makeover!

500 miles of around town driving mostly short (10-20 mile) segments were logged for break-in and yesterday I had my diff lube dump'n'pump done. The oil was in great shape obviously with black contaminants (phosphate finish wearing off the gear mesh) and the drain magnet just had a bit of black "dust" collected on it. As many are saying, 4.88s make this feel much more like a truck (or at least like my 2010 TRD) and having that extra torque is really nice. I should have a much better feel for milage after logging a few hundred highway miles this weekend for a trip to central Wisconsin and back.

Nervous as hell. No truck. Just been working on the house. Insulated under the part where we remodeled the kitchen as the new island with gas lines, power, vents, etc left the insulation shredded and plenty of gaps.....just finished and nice in here already. What a nasty job. Damn I'm nervous......gonna walk the dog he's kinda antsy.....did I say I'm anxious to get my truck back?

All will be good. Curious what tire size you will be running with the 4.88’s?

I’m in the same boat, but switching to an even 32” (255/75/17) on my 17” wheels.
RPMs should be just right for you

4.88's in and drove 4 20-30 mile break-in stints. I THINK the gearing feels PERFECT. It's both practical and good. 5.29 would have felt nice but even with 4.88 in town I need to get out of 1st yesterday. But 3rd and 4th are luxuriant. Pulling hills in 3rd is easy peasy. Need to break in for 500 then fluid swap.

Are you running the OVtune for 4.88’s?

Not an option for 2019 MT.

I switch to 32’s and level lift and 17’s. I have my 4.88’s nitro gears scheduled for Friday at premier west. I hope it brings this truck to life!

Wow. Try 4 LOW or get the mod harness RWD LOW. Yes indeed nice and low. It's sweet. You will like it.
