Thanks for all of this information and the write-up. I just got done pricing these (just the plates) out for myself at work, roughly $160 cut and formed....we'll see if the boss charges me or not.

Your sliders look great mate! Can't wait to get out to the shop and start building some myself!

That is great work. Gives me some inspiration to start getting some metal stock together and start building.

160 bucks all in. I had a lot of rem tubes from previous projects so that will help. I just got 20 feet of 2”x0.120” round and 20 feet of 2”x0.120” square. The 2” seems more aesthetically pleasing on a Tacoma. 1yBdAalCZN6J1R95sD_UCxkU6bj6TFyGvF0QMwrM_e7fb72b00a866ac4cc7c99b1eaf71fa27474eb3c.jpg CSZT6eSIjyuvja9UfU1pOK3EC69v4rqtKiHRFBwF_4a41b5316ea5f5a330668e77e637f41da014f8e1.jpg vVP3g1nyH1xYRWXAYxvKVWI_xnNrJFb8bgNAJ5XZ_cdbc734f8700879a7913ec689ece66870dca1d1f.jpgCGricD58owIRLoRo14YA1QksJgwBHH4fInplI6kx_9d6a57eccd11cd4c7c0af96ae342e79174bc82c9.jpg

Added the main tube to the square subframe tube. At this rate I will be done with these sliders in the same amount of time it takes CBI to build them and ship...lol

Well, a long wait time wasn't the only reason I decided to fab my own. I love the aesthetics of 2" tube vs the 1.5 or 1.75" that most others offer. I also like the aesthetics of one continuous outer tube (three bends total across its continuous length) vs what other shops do for the kick out. Another thing i wanted was for the main tube to "wrap around" the subframe square tube. I think it looks way sleeker vs just having it land against the square tube and then welding a cap at the ends of the square tube. Also maybe it won't get snagged on things as easily (total length is over 80" so it gets closer to the tires, end to end).

Welds are ok I guess for not doing it in so long

Still need to trim off the "slack at the ends / add cross supports / make frame plates bold on ...so a lot more work :)

    Looks great. Perfection takes time!

So far I have purchased a bender and a found a piece of scrap to practice bending with. It may be a year long project or more but it will get done.

Right on. Yeah once you got the basic tools you can start to build a lot of things yourself/the way you want. 220V MIG or TIG welder , chop saw and angle grinder is just about all you will need to being. Chop saw will cut your tubes and even notch your tubes for you ! (https://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/shop-tools/456800-chop-saw-notching-101-pictures.html)
Bender, bandsaw, cold cut chop saw, notcher or even a plasma cutter would be nice too. The cost of these tools is just about as much as a lift and tires too lol...

Watch a few videos and practice makes perfect. Like you said just take your time. Patience is soooooo critical when fabricating. Just make sure it's done right the first time so you don't waste more time chopping it up and redoing it.

That's pretty slick. Might be easier than the hole saw in a drill press idea I was gonna try.

not that I am aware of and I do not have access to a DCLB to verify fit if I were to modify the ones I posted.

This is the longest project ever. Been busy with installing CBI bumpers and suspension. At least I added side supports. Final step is getting plate to make these bad boys bolt on:

Feeling inspired to build my own set! My mig and tube bender have been collecting dust but this seems like a good project to brunch up on my fab skills

Yeah , I actually purchased a 2" radius bender Di for my ProTools 105 bender, just because 2" tube looked more aesthetic on a taco vs 1.5" and 1.75"

I don’t understand, this is a DIY thread. Custom fabrication will allow for anything to be possible.

No idea. the original template I used was off a second Gen and it required very minimal changes. Infact this design is fully backwards compatible. To find the changes needed I printed a 1:1 paper template.
These will NOT fit on a long bed.

I know this is an older thread but I am looking into having my sliders built for my 2017 Tacoma at a local tech school (I think the students would have fun doing something like this) and the files you posted are not letting me view them.. I was wonder if there was anyway you could possibly send me the files a different way . I would appreciate and help, I have spent many hours trying to find dement ions with no luck.
    Thanks
    -Chad
