Even with the motor out it wasn't very fun. The bolts they give you to go into the head are pretty short and stripped out two of the holes. Luckily Toyota made these holes pretty deep so I was able to get some longer bolts and find some thread deep enough in the head to get them up to proper torque. I also had to hack up my cat and weld it to the end of the headers. They're not a direct bolt on which I think is kinda odd. Seems like it would be really easy for JBA to make it a fully bolt on kit.

Think that's the difference between the short headers and long tube. Due to the cat difference once the upper cat was added.

It's been awhile since my last post on here. I got the new engine wrapped up, got it dyno tuned, relocated my washer fluid reservoir, installed my ARB compressor under the hood, and started piecing together my methanol kit.

    IMG_0937.jpg

The new tune on the truck removed any pinging I had and it pulls so much harder and more consistent between 60 - 100 mph. I plan to use this tune as a jumping off point for either a 2.0 or 2.1 pulley and methanol.

    IMG_0082.jpg

Swapped out the ignition bezel for a clockless one so I could install my methanol controller where my clock once was.

What did you use for the tune?

What model airbag did you end up using?

Maybe I'm blind, but I couldn't find it in any of your posts...

They’re Carlie airbags. They’re the longest travel airbag I could find. Carie doesn’t sell just the bags on their website, but if you give them a call they will.

Also, check out page 11 on my build thread to see how I built the setup. To open up enough space for the bags, it requires removing the brake proportioning valve and installing a manual valve, rerouting cables and brake lines on the axle, rerouting the e-locker wiring harness, and rerouting the e-brake cable.

I was afraid of that, those Carli kits are so $$$.

I've been planning to do a similar setup on my truck, probably using the W02-358-7081 bag however, because I'm cheap.

The vertical travel capability is similar, but its an air bag for air ride cabs, and is only like 3" in diameter, so I think the load leveling capability will be pretty low.

Yeah it wasn’t a cheap or easy setup, but it does exactly what I needed it to do so I’m glad I did it.

I believe there are some alternative bags to Carli but I knew that the Carli bags were proven to be able to take some abuse so I just went with them.

If you end up getting some kind of bag setup, I would highly recommend getting a shock setup with compression adjusters. You’ll want a lot more compression dampening when you’re using the airbags otherwise the ride will be pretty bouncy and uncontrolled.

Got the methanol injection kit installed, now I just need a smaller pulley. I'm running the URD 2.2 at the moment and can't decide if I want to go with a 2.1 or 2.0...

Went exploring around Diamond Lake and Umpqua Hot Springs this weekend.

    IMG_7117.jpg

I found this little jump at this road crossing and couldn't resist. Hit it at 80mph. Doesn't look like much but got about two and half truck lengths in distance :headbang:

Beautiful truck, tastefully built. Did you have those rear 2.125" ADS shocks custom built? I wanted to look into them, but can't find them on the website. Part no?

    Thank you :)

I had them custom built. I measured the extended and compressed lengths of my total chaos outboard kit and they made some shocks to those specs.

@JasonLee here are the header clearance pics you were asking for.

For the trans dip stick I had to bend the tube at the tranmission a bit to get it to come up through the headers in the right direction, and used a 1'' spacer at the trans dip stick bracket - engine mount.

What's the advantage of the new LCAs over stock in your setup? Their website is a little short on details.
