Citation shares was the WORST! Man I dont know how they treated them there, but talk about miserable. The 135 freight guys were always cool, except USA Jet falcon crews, they thought they were sky gods or something, the dc9 crews were easy to deal with though. Net jets was hit or miss, I was also working around them during the post 9/11 era, where they were a bunch of laid off airline pilots hating life.

Is it common for business execs to fly in there and then grab a heli to get to their office in NYC?

Seems like that may be the case:

In 2017 the airport had 178,369 aircraft operations, averaging 488 per day: 65.6% general aviation, 34% air taxi, 0.3% military, and <1% airline. 121 aircraft were then based at this airport: 81% jet, 10.7% helicopter, 6.6% single-engine, and 1.7% multi-engine.[1]

    That's a lot of activity for a non-commercial airport.

It’s the closest airport that’s GA friendly to NYC. If you’re going to the city in a private jet, you come here. I’m just not sure about the helicopter to the office thing
Haha, that’s more funny watching again now that I’ve been here. I’m saying in the hotel that he filmed in that video

That's how I feel about EWR! Although right before I quit last month SFO was quickly gaining on that dump in the heartburn scale.

    That videos funny!

    Just the basics
Anyone here seen Ford vs. Ferrari? There is some cool aviation history in it along with wonderful airport footage. Memories from when I was current, flying and working ops at KLGB.

idk, I was EWR based for a couple of years and still think TEB sucks more, but the whole area blows. A good friend of mine is a N90 controller and he says they're staffed at about 50% with no improvement in sight which is a big part of the problem.

Yea a mouse farts and everything's delayed. From a ground ops standpoint at ewr, the people are great to talk to, but it a bottomless pit of stupidity and dumb shit. Anything weird or unusual operationally or safety wise came from sewer.

The station visits were always fun though, was great to get out of the stuffy office and tell a bunch of people to f off and then laugh, my face and sides would be hurting for a few days after a visit from the laughs I shared with the ground crews out there!

It took a whole hour longer to get home from TEB as it did to get there. Averaged 98kts on the nose over the 4 hour flight home.
