They'll eventually get sent back to Dobinsons after so much time, and I guess Dobinsons will have to ship them out again

Is your dad a knife guy? Get him an alox Swiss Army Farmer or Pioneer and custom engrave it. Gun guy? Buy a couple boxes of ammo, so good excuse to go shoot together. If neither, a gift card to a nice restaurant, so he can take your mom out to eat. Kill 3 birds with that one! I don't know, some people are just really hard to buy for.

If he is a handy guy, get him one of the new wooden marble runs. I've seen it takes 4-6 hours to complete, and who doesn't like a perpetual machine...

My dad's the same way. Vietnam chopper pilot, commandeering, super independent, doesn't ever need anything, and if I ever do gift him something, he tells me to just take it back for a refund! lol He has been really happy with a Surefire flashlight I gave him a long time ago though.

i've been on pirate4x4.com longer than I've been on tacomaworld. It's great, it's bigger on jeeps for sure because they can be made great for cheap.
it has toyotas, suzukis, to buggies. anything and everything.

‘twas a joke. I have been lurking on pirate for at least 10 years.

the thought of doing a SAS on my Silverado brought me there

i use sites like that for research, but that's it. I hate sites that don't offer their own image hosting and make you go through a third party website.

Honestly, I've never experienced those before. In the end, it's probably some cheap, chinese pot metal. Find out what pattern Case your dad likes and get him one with a different handle material on it. I'm a user and not a collector, so blade steel is important to me. Most of my folders have high carbide tool steels in them.

How about a machinists tool box? Those things are nice and make for some classy storage for machinist tools, or in my case, knives.

I bought some online from a guy on eBay that uses OEM components. I’ll see if I can dig up the link. I think for a pair it’s $270.

better mpg is it, being able to drive back by just unlocking the hub usually when cv breaks.

The live axle like we have are stronger, but that’s the only benefit. Oh and Less parts

With manual hubs you can disconnect everything to do with 4 wheel drive. When you shift it out of 4WD and unlock the hubs, the transfer case and the CVs no longer turn.
If you damage anything to do with 4WD just disconnect and keep driving. With ADD unless it breaks at the hub you will have to remove the CV before going any further.
Less wear on the CVs because they don't turn, on ADD the CVs turn all the time. If they are on a big angle they can ware fast.
And like Tanner said better gas mileage too because less mass turning.
