Does anyone know if a 2nd gen CBI bedrack will fit on a 3rd gen Tacoma?

The only difference between the second and 3rd gen beds are that the mounting rail is ~ an inch lower from the top of the rail on the 3rd gens. So the footprint will be fine, but you may need to drill a hole in the flats where the bolts go through or worst case, extend the mount plates.

Thats what I think it is, but the OP of the picture says there is 4" before it touches the bump stops. I also asked if the truck was weighed down in the pictures he posted. He mentioned "no". I am just trying to figure out why his truck has a rear sway bar with all pro leaf springs.

oh, I see the original picture now. yeah. that is very curious. it's also a strange looking mount if it is a bump stop. very interesting design/build for that suspension setup.

(sorry, I know I'm late to the convo :) ) I had the same issue, I used to have to reboot almost daily. I had bought new Surfboard modems to see if that would fix the problem and it never did. Finally I tried a Motorola and I haven't had to reboot my modem since due to it not working. That was just over a year ago (bough it on Dec 4 of last year). Xfinity still sucks, but at least my modem isn't constantly locking up.

Can you take one more set of pictures? A shot this or where you can see the bump stop and the gap between the bumpstop and the spring plates (my truck is spring under vs. your spring over axle). I want to see what yours looks like.

No weight in the bed just your shell and bumper. I may have a theory on why you have a sway bar.

That is what I was looking at. The flatter the leaf pack, the more prone to axle wrap. I am wondering if having the shell, High clearance bumper, and spare tire have over taxed those springs. Depending upon where the truck sits, different parts of the leaf pack are "engaged".

From Low Range's Website about those all pro springs: "* NOTE: These springs are NOT designed for extreme weight carrying capability. They are designed for ride quality and flex. For springs designed to carry heavy loads, see the CS047R Emu Dakar springs."

That leads me to believe that the previous owner put the sway bar on in order to counter act a couple of things:
    - Axle wrap
    - Increased amount of Sway.

Since the truck is more heavy in the rear, it will want to sway more. I experienced this a couple of weeks ago in my truck. I was hauling some brick and cinder block to the dump. I loaded my truck up to about 1-2" from my Hydraulic bump. The truck would want to "wander" and sway on the freeway. It was kinda sketchy.

Although I had probably 1500lbs in the bed, and I have aftermarket springs/ setup, I could see the effects of excessive weight.

I bet if that sway bar was disconnected, OP's truck would want to wander since the leafs look nearly flat at ride height.

Great explanation. I can agree with this path of logic. Makes a lot of sense to me considering how flat those leaf springs look.

LOL, Just trying to be helpful. Normally I don't take interest in various posts. This one however, was intriguing since I have never seen a "stock" taco with a sway bar. If you head over to the long travel section, you see tacos with rear sway bars but those guys have 3 or 4 link rear suspensions with 2'-3' of travel.

Any of you 3rd gen, short bed fellas interested in a factory oem bed cover? A family member of mine is asking me to help them sell it. It has all of the hardware, and I have the Toyota gaskets to seal up the front corners. It's in great shape. He's hoping to get 500 for it, which I feel like isn't too bad? It's wild how much Toyota sells these for.
