It’s pretty sweet. I just got it. I took it on a 2 week camping trip to Baja in November with the camper I just built on my truck. The camper still had metal shavings and sawdust all over. The vacuum made short work of it.
Also, if you reverse it you can use it to fan fires. It’s a bit much for that but it’s fun.
It’s does suck down batteries pretty quick. I have 5AH batteries.

Milwaukee Fuel Impact 1/2" 3 speed with battery and charger can be had for $200 as they often have that sale at Home Depot.

I've heard bad things about DeWalt (no personal experience) so I went with the Milwaukee. Why pay more for what others would say is a "lateral" move (between the red label and yellow label).

Check your local pawnshops. That’s how I scored my corded impact gun for $30. It looked new and came with the case so I thought I would give it a try. It works for everything I tried it on, lug nuts and flange nut on the drive shaft

I'm a DeWalt guy as I invested in the 20V MAX and FLEXVOLT tools early. I have this pig and would advise you get it with the hog ring (DCF899H) rather than the detent anvil (DCF899). I bought the detent version and it was a so big of a PITA to get sockets off, I bought the hog ring anvil from my DeWalt service center and replaced it. HIGHLY recommend. I can remove subframe assemblies and suspension components like clockwork with zero issues.

Milwaukee fan here. Use the drill/impact combo for work but have my own impacts for home automotive use. The m18 series battery life is incredible.
I have the 3/8 inch m18 fuel impact and that is good for 90% of all automotive nuts and bolts I have run into. Takes off lug nuts no problem. It is compact enough to get at a Tacoma upper control arm nut. This thing has saved me a ton of time and headaches. No more snapping bolt heads off with a breaker bar. I also have the mid torque 1/2 inch m18 fuel impact and that has been 100% successful. Took off the 200k miles rusty crusty bumper bolts no problem. The bolts came out smoking hot. That's how much friction the impact had to deal with.
Im sure the dewalt is comparable. But I'll take the 5 year warranty over the 3 year. (Last I knew)

The three year warranty is why I have a great relationship with my local dealer. He has basically treated me as a SnapOn customer... Milwaukee has a reputation for great tools (namely the M18 tools).

    OME and worth every penny.
Everyone who has bought a Milwaukee loves it.
I bought the DeWalt and thought it was shit. Lasted 2-3 mths. and took out a battery with it.
Not a fan of their batteries anyway. Have to have 2 on hand because 1 is always in process of death.

Just seems like they go fast to only charging to 2 bars out of 3.

edit: Maybe it's our heat. Not AZ but certainly is a warm *hot, who we kiddin'* garage to keep them in.

ARB Bumper, SOS sliders, rear bumper, and skid plate. OME Lift. Some other stuff.
Dewalt 20v 1/4 drive. Mines done everything I've asked of it: lug nuts, bumper removal, skid plates, etc.

You can get them at Lowes for $99.00 which inclides a battery and charger.

I had DeWalt tools shortly after the Stanley Black and Decker merger and they were trash. I must have smoked $400 in batteries and annihilated three or four 1/4" impacts. I don't know if they recently got their s*** together, but everything I've purchased since circa 2013 has been gold (only had a hammer drill sieze up after trying to bore a hole through 12" of solid concrete... Totally self imposed. Take a look at some of the disassembly videos of modern DeWalt tools and batteries. They speak for themselves.

I've had this for about a year, used it for suspension maintenance, u bolt flip kit, wheel swaps, removing my front bumper, skids, etc. It has never hiccuped. All of my other tools are Milwaukee.

I've used it to install a front HC bumper on a 3rd gen, makes slight work of bolts.

Edit: I'd say the only downside is that it's big and bulky but it gets the job done.

Probably won't need to, I can see the words 'Eliminates' clearly on the price tag.

The 3/8" compact you have there is at the top of my Christmas List.
Second on the list is one of these.

I had a cordless ratchet a while ago and I found it effectively useless. They lack any usable torque. They say "up to 55ft-lbs of torque", but that's only installing hardware. Their breaking torque is measurably less than that. I wouldn't expect to use it for suspension components anytime.

What has your experience been? I felt the tech hadn't matured to be practical for my use. What limitations have you seen? Would you buy it again? Inputs appreciated!
