Just test drove a buddy's 2019 SR5 double cab vs my 2016 TRD Sport access cab and it was night and day difference. Made sure it was a cold start and went through the same areas and drove the same way and I didn't get any of the same feelings as I did in mine. The most I felt was the slight sluggishness of the engine but that's it. No pedal vibration, no shift hesitation, no going to brake and then gas and it jump multiple gears and it feels like my transmission fell out (I've felt the same in 2013 silverado and 2015 grand cherokee to be fair)

So imo they've either fixed it in newer or manufacturing tolerances are allowing some to be that way and some not. It's pretty disheartening because I'd love the truck if it ran like his. I guess maybe its a word to the wise to not buy the first model year of a change.

That sucks. Hopefully it's not too bad. Mine is mostly in the gas pedal and just barely in the steering wheel. I've been dealing with it for almost 4 years now but I'm in this truck for the long haul.

I've had my 2019 OR for a couple of months after totaling my 2017. I'm not sure if this is the buzz you guys are talking about, but my buzz is not a constant buzz. It is more periodic like a waveform, increasing and decreasing about once per second or slightly longer. It happens when the engine is lightly loaded on a small incline or just keeping a constant speed on a flat surface in about the 40mph speed zone. Since it's a low frequency, I tend to hear it more than feel it, and I only hear it on quiet mornings or evenings with no other external noises present. It's disappointing to me since I never experienced that buzz in my 2017 OR. I'll certainly bring it up when I'm due for my 5K checkup.

Do you feel the buzz in the gas pedal? Feels like a cell phone vibration to me.

My 17’ only does it at slight acceleration, only when there is another person in the truck. Sounds like it’s coming from the bottom of the driver door panel. It drives me crazy.

2020 TRD Pro - same issue. Going to dealer tomorrow, if they are unable to fix it it’s getting traded in at 1400 miles.

Iv been following this for a while and as far as I know there is no fix. It’s the exhaust harmonics and the way the trucks built.

I had a super loud Harley take off right next to me and I could feel vibrations from that in the steering wheel and I was in park!

I have gotten used to it after a few months but please post update what the dealer says.

No weird buzzing or vibrations coming from my 2020. Its very quiet, transmission shifts great, and its smooth....love the truck. Only issue it rides harsher than my old tundra, but i guess thats to be expected.

Yeah it sucks Toyota won't do anything about it. I've had my Tacoma for almost 5 years now and gave up trying to get them to do anything. Even vcalled corporate to get it logged because people here said it might help. I was even told by a service writer where I bought mine that Toyota is aware of the issue and a fix will be coming out. Never happened. It still does it and I'm still not used to it. It does seem like it comes and goes tho sometimes or at the least is less annoying at times. Wierd thing is last year I took a trip out west with a friend and he said he couldn't feel it when he was driving.

No hope. I'm in my 6th year and my Tacoma still has it. Not a peep from Toyota and I was promised years ago there was a fix in the works.
Weird thing is is a friend drove it a year and a half ago on an off-road trip to Utah in 2019 and he said he couldn't feel it.

The minimum you should do is call Toyota corporate and log the issue with them.

Glad I found this thread. My 2019 Sport 4x4 has the same thing. The “buzz” is not constant, but is rhythmic and only occurs around 60 mph when at about 2100 RPM. Seems to happen mostly under a load such as going uphill. Let of the gas and it immediately disappears. My guess is it’s engine/exhaust harmonics. Drives me nuts though. It’s not terrible but I can’t seem to ignore it.

Toyota must of solved the problem by now. I have a 2020 sr5. There's no vibration, or any buzzing i get. Truck drives perfectly quiet. Been that way from day one.

Mine still has it after 6 years and 80k miles. Hopefully once I get over 100k the vibration will break in? lol
