The previous owner already swapped in a spring there.

Nope, mine was all factory when I got it. I doubt the previous owners even had a clue about the spring swap.

Nice build, one thing about inverters and inductive loads(compressors) you can be looking at between 16 -24 amps at start up. So you might be able to go with a smaller inverter- they are rated at their peak wattage(if memory serves correctly) which is about double continuous load wattage. You might be able to get by with starting the compressor with the tank drain open (like a compression release)and then close it once it starts.
I went with the Viair 400P:
    https://www.amazon.com/VIAIR-40043-400P-Portable-Compressor/dp/B000X9AXR8

Update: figured that you would have gone to onboard air so some of this is moot, but once again, nice job on your rig, well done!

Nice country for wheelin enjoy it and treat it nice so your kids can enjoy it as well.
    Cheers

Epic build going on here, well done.

I had the same bend on mine, I think mine was done while the PO was out wheeling and got it stuck in a creek. Same thing, it looked like he hit a rock with the tow hook, bent the stock skid bracket among other things. When I replaced the center console I found about 3/4 an inch of packed sand under it, so that explains a lot of the drama/trauma I have found on my rig.

I used the existing hardware, didn't change anything. Fender liner is held in place with plastic fender clips that accept a screw. I did not use the 01-04 blue or red fender clips for the flares, just the factory, 1999 bolt holes.

One of these 3 should work:

    Gotcha. Thanks!
Any particular screw that you used, with a washer or anything?

Factory screws are the self tappers for plastic. You can really use whatever works best with those grommets. Using a fender washer with them is always a good idea since it spreads the load over a larger surface. I actually plan on going through all of them to replace the original grommets with ones that I linked and new screws with fender washers.

that's what I figured. I'll probably use some fender washers as well to help with that.
    Thanks for the links!
Just ordered a set of the inserts.

A little late to the party, but I just did this a couple months ago too. So glad to have that squeak gone.

    Best.

I didn't have a squeak but you can see by the spring it was only a matter of time before something broke up there. And the part where it hooked in was even worse!

Really nice work. I've just read up to this point and was wondering why you welded the 1/4" spacers to the frame. FYI, I was drawn to your build because of the Costal Offroad bumper. I'm considering one.

I'm enjoying watching your progress. What feedback led you away from the full hoops?

The 1/4" end caps add some strength for the bumper mounting and completely seal up the front of the frame horns. 1/4" plate is what I had so I used it, thinner material could also be used there.

Ease of access for working on the motor mainly. And I was torn on the look with the headlight hoops. I still have them so can weld them up if I ever decide too.

You still liking that Coastal rear bumper? How is the spare carrier doing for you? I’m still really interested in going with their bumper eventually.

Love it. The swingout is great after I re-made it with the 4xInnovations parts, completely rock solid. The hiems and latch that Coastal uses just weren't working for me, I don't know if I just had them setup wrong or what. I also definitely recommend adding the extra kicker bar on the swingout side to help stabilize the bumper wing, it flexes too much otherwise.

    Nice! Thanks for the update.

I’ll have to go back thru your build and read up on the mods you did to it. It’s by far my favorite HC rear for the 1st Gen, and I’ve heard nothing but good things about working with the company.
