Had the honor of receiving my purple belt tonight. Total surprise. Very grateful and excited. Everyone says purple is a fun one.

 

thanks dude. Yeah, it’s been a journey so far. Excited for what the future has in store. Here’s to injury free training.

Myself and one of my favorite rolling partners received our first stripes last night from Grand master Flavio Behring.

the first 1-2yrs are the hardest. Suit up, show up. It gets better haha

 

Yeah but if you are consistent you will progress faster. I can’t tell you how many guys I see train for a few months then disappear for a few months then come back etc. or they train 2-3 days a week for a couple weeks then hardly come at all for the next three weeks. It a a dedicated grind that will get you proficient, stick with it. There are different challenges each and every year, each and every belt but the first year is the hardest

 

They’re adding a second NoGi class at our studio

 

This is the hard part, no excuses, just show up to class.

Then after a year grab the new guy on his second class and prove to yourself this shit actually works.

 

Exactly. New guys are always great when you are first starting to train. I remember the 6-12 month mark going with new guys and completely dominating them...that's when the light bulb goes off and you realize this shit works. It's all about time on the mat.
