I’ve got a 2.7l 4x4 Manual tacoma I just finished up putting a turbo on it and now it’s giving me problem. I got it to run but it’s giving me the code p0336 (cps circuit A range/performance) my tach worked on and off after all the work but now works fine. The truck idles 1k rpm and around 14.8 ar ratio but any throttle it goes very lean and spuders until about 2k rpm the runs fine at 14.8 then with boost it riches to 9 and spuders. If I let off the gas and push the clutch in it goes very rich and it’ll drop to 400 rpm and sometimes come back up but other times it will die. I’ve tried every thing I have found online to try to figure out what’s going on and no luck. Oh and my 4x4 light on my dash don’t work no more don’t know why that is either

Im betting a vacuum leak or hose routing is your issue. That can cause a whole bunch of random gremlins

It could be but I’ve put all the hoses where they were stock except the crank case hoses

Are you running a stock ecu or have you had it tuned since you put a turbo on it

As for the 4x4 light you may have accidentally bumped a wire or messed something up when installing your turbo

You need to make sure that the fuel pressure regulator is plumbed into the charge pipe so it sees boost and raises and lowers fuel pressure accordingly.

Sounds like un-metered air getting into the system leaning you out. Should purr like stock at idle and easy driving. A pic would be great too.

It’s running a stock ecu I am going to try rerouting the fuel regulator in front of the throttle body to see if that changes anything, as far as I can tell there is no air getting in after the MAF i will try a smoke test to confirm though

After some research I suspect it to be the iac valve

Hey I had the same error code in a two error situation (P0336 and P0505).

The problems were a leak at the intake to head, a finger tight headbolt on the front right side by the thermostat housing, and a blanking plate gasket on the EGR line to exhaust manifold while the other end of the EGR line had a double gasket.

I have a 96 2.7l 4x4 and it would turn over and die almost immediately with those codes while I had a brand new crank position sensor. Only when I gave it a lot of gas and time to warm up it’ idle. But it was running rich and LEAKING.

So maybe EGR or vacuum leaks?

    Good luck.
