I'm curious where everyone puts their phone when it is plugged in for Android Auto or Apple CarPlay. My phone is large (Note9), and won't sit flush in the Qi charging area when a cable is plugged in. I'm looking for a right angle usbc plug to see if that will buy me enough space...

I have the same phone, pick up some right angle USB c cables off Amazon (think the ones I got are Aukey branded) and it will fit in the QI area no problem.

I got the Galaxy S10+ and barely fits in the compartment in a lifeproof case. When I'm using Android Auto I still keep it down there but it doesnt fit quite right but I did notice while using the USB it does charge the phone so theres really no need to try force the phone onto the wireless charger.

Now I hope it's a Toyota thing and not an Android Auto thing but I really hope at some point itll connect via Bluetooth then we can actually utilize the wireless charger if you're using Android Auto.

I have an iPhone 11 Pro Max. I dont have carplay or a.a but I just tuck it between the parking brake and the shifter/cup holders.

I agree, and I have absolutely no reason to agree I just happen to have the same opinion as this random individual :anonymous:

I have a magic mount for our car, so have a metal plate on the back of my phone case (listed above, or DIY metal sheet from home depot) to mount it. for the truck, I just took gun magnets like:

    https://www.amazon.com/TACTICON-Adh...=1&keywords=gun+magnet&qid=1577327692&sr=8-13

(not this exact one, but for example, Or any heavy weight rated magnet).

I attached them to both side of the radio stack (passenger and driver) using gorilla mounts. Phone is attached by magnet and it holds just fine. It stays out of the way and it doesn't take up a spot anywhere. Its an iphone 10, so I don't know how well it will work on bigger phones. the steel plate is mounted on the bottom of the phone and doesn't interfere with qi charging when I need it at home. The magnet doesn't interfere with any of the function of the phone.

i'll have to remember to take pics.

But just think, instead of gun, it's phone.
