Ballistic performance beats pure accuracy for most shooters anyway, competition aside.

Anyone cast? I've been reloading for a bit. I really like it, find it therapeutic and have yielded good results. Getting ready to make the move to casting. I'm still acquiring lead and molds. Thinking of starting off with .45 ACP then moving to .357 and .44 with (Keith molds). Ive got a deal with a local tire shop, beer for wheel weights.

Sorted and ready to smelt/flux. Ultra paranoid about the stray zinc weight:

    This and that...
A friend is wanting to get rid of 20 boxes of:

Nosler AccuBond Bullets 9.3mm (366 Diameter) 250 Grain Bonded Spitzer Box of 50

AccuBond represents the most advanced bonded core bullet technology to date. Through a proprietary bonding process that eliminates voids in the bullet core, AccuBond marries Nosler's traditional copper-alloy jacket with its special lead-alloy core. The result is a bullet that flies true, penetrates deep, won't cause extensive barrel fouling, and will retain 60-70% of its weight. The polymer tip helps protect against deformation while initiating expansion upon impact. This is not loaded ammunition.

It seems pretty obscure but has a solid history. I just don't know who uses this caliber. Let me know if there is anyone out there interested.

Picked up a Rockchucker finally Saturday and mounted onto a Dillon
hard mount. Had shot a box of Magnum Research 50AE which are nickel cased
rounds. Loaded those up with Hornady 300 gr. XTP's and CCI
#350 magnum primers with Alliant 2400. Should have used the Win296
    for the special effects.
Long weekend coming up again, may load up some .308 or maybe
    some more .44 mag. Rockchucker.jpg 50AE.jpg

Starting the adventure tomorrow. Have my first class for 4 hours in a room with a group. All book and talk. Going to follow that up with another 4 hour session, 1 on 1, on another date.

I’m excited to get into this and enjoyed reading through this thread. Thanks for putting this all out there.

Fish and Game Association down in North County San Diego. They have a certified instructor that’s been doing it forever over there.

That’s cool it can be hard to find places to learn about Reloading. I bought the RCBS Rock Chucker kit about 12 years ago and read the Speer manual a couple times before I started loading. I knew I had followed all the steps correctly but the first time I pulled the trigger on one of my own handloads I was still a little nervous:pray:

Hey guys. I just discovered there’s a reloading section on TacomaWorld! So I’m here to introduce myself. I’m Scott Schwab and have been handloading for about 3 years. Here’s my bench, where I learned on my own watching YouTube and from 2 older feller friends of mine that got my started out with the basics. I load .357 mag/.38-special, .223 Rem, .270 Win, 7mm Rem Mag and 12g shot. F20DB4BF-BB4D-4FF5-B259-0EEF24FAA040.jpg

Just wrapped up my 1 on 1 class yesterday. Got 12 rounds of 30.06 loaded in 4 hours, lol. Obviously most of that time was questions, explanations, etc. I’m really looking forward to this whole process now though!!

With all this stuff going on, I'm finding it hard to get the components that I want to mix up some M2 ball clone loads for my M1. Anybody know somewhere that's got IMR 4895 in stock, by chance?

Figure this is as good of a starter kit as I can get.

I reloaded some 357 magnum for the first time when I was 18 or 19, had done a bunch of reading and watched videos and understood the concept of checking powder weights and seat depth and everything, took 2 night after class to setup the dies and then loaded 5 different loads for the 357 stepping up from the minimum in either .1 or .2 grain increments, the first round I touched off I was trying to make my arms 6’ longer in anticipation of the “BOOM”, instead I got some very manageable 357 loads that shot well and were pretty cheap.
