Howdy! Im looking for a more "pocket sized" EDC. I currently carry my Walther PPS M2. I really like it and I will continue to carry it, but, I also want something smaller. Yes theres the G43, but Im not sure I like the ergos on it. Right now Im trying to get some more opinion on the Springfield Armory Hellcat that is optic ready, and the Sig Sauer P365. Both come from very reputable companies, but if anyone has first hand experience with them I would appreciate your input. Even if you havent shot one, but want to chime in then go for it.

I don't like how either of them fit my hand

    I'd rather have a 365xl

    None....yet.
Haven't shot the 365, but I shot my buddy's hellcat a couple weeks ago and really liked it. It's a little snappy, and ungodly loud for a little 9, but it shoots really well and smooth. I'm a self-proclaimed Glock snob, and I'll probably never own a g43 for what its worth.

Bought the wife a P365 for Christmas. She tried one at the range, had a Sig day. Free shooting, ammo provided, and factory reps. She liked it. Not so great in my xlarge hand. Shoots very well and easily concealed.

I do too! The trigger safety, drop safety, and the most important of all the one in my head.

Ive been told I have small hands, Ive been told I have big hands so Im not sure where I fit in, but I held both of em today and the overall feeling of the gun goes to the Sig. The best one is still Walther.

I wish I could shoot them. I dont find my walther to be very loud, but it is a bit snappy. The hellcat had much better sights than the sig.

How was it in the snappy department?

So I went and looked at them both.

The overall, I liked the looks and feeling of the sig a little more, but the sights, and the fact that the hellcat can be had in an optics ready package makes it the more attractive option. Also, the hellcat comes with a 15rd mag which is a huge advantage. 10rds in a shorter than my PPS that only carries 8 is pretty good, but 13rds in a pretty much identical size is even better. On top of that its ready for a red dot.

I have a 365, and concur that it's a little "snappy." It feels about as "snappy" as my G23. I really don't want to put more than 100 rounds downrange at a time with either of those...lol

But it is tiny, and it's definitely a "shooter." I'm very happy with that purchase.

I like the sights on the Sig and the rail on the Springfield. I have had pistols from both brands and never had any problems with either. I think the P365 has a better trigger.

If you're thinking about adding a red dot the Hellcat would probably be better because you don't lose the rear sight cowitness and you're not stuck using only Sig optics

I just purchased a 365 yesterday.. the salesman said which made a lot of sense -when the sig 365 came out it had a few kinks to work out ( like our trucks on a new model year) and said that honestly the hellcat hadn't been fully out through it's paces as the 365 has .. I got the 12 Rd mag along with the standard 10rd mag.. I might be odd but I saved the first two bullets( sentimental) that I shot from the gun today . I love the way it feels and love the trigger. Of all the guns in this size category I think the P365 is def the best looking option if nothing else

Op I would definitely look at the 365 with the larger magazine and see what you think about that I like that the 365 had the option of a standard 10 round magazine and the 12 round they make a 365 XL which has really just a half inch longer muzzle and maybe a quarter of an inch longer stock but I like the option of if I really need to conceal the smaller magazine and smaller muzzle of the 365 and if I needed the extra rounds or to have that longer grip I can always put in the larger magazine

It’s dumb, I know. I really like the Springfield Armory XD and Hellcat pistols, but having said that I would never buy one. They’re made in Croatia. I know they’re totally fine guns, but I cannot get past the idea of a historical American company like Springfield building their guns overseas.

I would definitely buy one of their US guns though.

I know how you feel, but like you said, they make really nice pistols. I have a XD-E that I love, and wouldn't trade that for anything in it's category.

Hmmm. Now I might have to recant. I’m finding out that Springfield Armory Inc has no affiliation with the historical Springfield Armory, other than the name

Consider the G48/G43X while you're at it. It's a mite bigger than either, but with the Shield Arms S15 mags you're getting a whole lot more capacity.

If I had to buy one of them sight-unseen, I'd go Hellcat OR. Optics are the future.

Yup, they're totally separate, and have committed their own firearms fuckups over the years in more ways than one. Stealing the name is how they get ya.
