Does anybody has the same problem with driver side front door not closing properly?
I need to push the driver side door harder to close/ seal properly.
My friends 2020 Tacoma got the same problem but worst.
It pops open when you close the front driver side door and the dealership fixed the strike plate.IMG_1140.jpg

Keep taking it back until they fix it right. Or try another dealership if there is one near you. You have a warranty and its good at any Toyota dealer.

This, the better they deal, the more force it takes. My Wrangler doors wouldn't leak a drop, even the lower door was under water, but it did take force to close. What I found, was you didn't need to slam the door, rather keep your hand on the door with force until it hits the jamb (essentially following though).

Its normal, Toyota updated the 2020's for better insulation, try opening / closing your vents too prior to, trust me this is a good thing, though I'm sure annoying.

It's only the front drivers door that's doing this?

If you shut the front passenger door with the same force does it do the same thing?

If you keep one of the other doors open (or windows down) when you shut the drivers door, does this still happen?

Need some more details to determine if this is a real issue or not.

When i bought mine back in 18', i had to return to the dealer the same day because the door was scraping the firewall when fully open and rubbing paint off the edge of the door. I think toyota's door hanging crew needs to step up a little bit. Just take it back to them and say "hey! fix it.. please."

If you look in one of the 2020 threads, everyone that has a 2020 has said the same thing hard to close as part of the added noise/insulation, nothing wrong with the truck, just pressure differences.

My 2020 does the same thing - I feel like it takes an abnormal amount of force to get it to close/latch completely. I'm going to give it some time to see if it relaxes a little bit. As others have mentioned, it's likely the new seals and improved insulation. We had a similar experience with our 4Runner when it was brand new.

Check if your air recirculation button is on/off. If its on it may increase air pressure in the vehicle making the doors harder to close.

Might also want to consider a different dealership since they already threw parts at this apparent non-issue "Dealership fixed the strike plate"

Adjust your striker its the part that the door latches to it is held with 2 screws when u open your door u should see it on the body where the info sticker is at really easy to adjust . Hope this helps . Make sure its not installed upside down had some mechanic do that to mine and the door was not sitting right.

I just purchased a new 2020 off-road double cab long bed. Front passenger door doesn't close properly. Nor does it open properly. All of the other doors are fine. For the other three doors, when I open it, I hear the soft sounding low muffled pop and the door easily opens. When I close them, they easily shut with little effort. For the passenger door, when I open it, there is a loud bright pop and the door is forced open with much greater force. When I close it with the same effort as the others, it doesn't close all the way. I need to close it with more force before it fully latches. I have complained to the dealership, and they "made adjustments" but there is no perceivable difference. This really sucks! I just paid a tremendous sum, and I have a bum door. I am considering taking this up as far as I need to take it. Don;t know exactly what that would be, but I'm extremely dissatisfied.

I searched this problem when I got the truck and didn't find this thread. I thought I might be the only one! My drivers side door takes more force to close and if I just shut it normally then it doesn't completely close. I drives me a little crazy. I took it back to the dealership and they said they fixed it. It is still the same. I really do hope it gets better over time.

Mine closes properly now that the door is being used regularly.
