The same shit everyone else has.
    Bump for more discussion.

Why kinda power are you guys running? Seems like 75rms and 150rms watts seem to be the 2 most common options out there.

I said Kenwood in a previous post but meant Kicker. The Alpine amp I used had speaker level inputs as does the Kicker Hideaway sub.

The Audio & Video forum is a good place to see what other Tacoma owners have installed. Crutchfield is a good place to get an idea of what's available/suitable for your application. Armed with that info, visit a (couple of) local shop(s) to listen to various combos. (In the end, it's about what sounds good to you, rather than what anyone else used.) Narrow your choices and buy from where you get the best "bang for your buck." FWIW, I added the following to my stock (non-JBL) HU, and I'm happy with the result...
    - AudioControl LC2i Line Out Converter
    - JL Audio XD200/2v2 Amp
    - Focal PS165V1 Speakers
    - Sound Ordnance B-8PTD Sub
    - Hushmat & Noico Liner Sound Insulation

I pulled most interior panels and the carpet, in addition to door panels, when I did mine...

The Sub went under the driver seat, while the LOC and Amp went under the passenger. (No spacers, risers, or new seat-related hardware was required.) Unless money is burning a hole in your pocket, comparison shop! I got all my stuff for an average of 40% off MSRP.

The A/V forum on here is basically a dead zone....

    I know what’s available.

But I’m more interested in seeing what others have used in a 2nd gen and discussing why said set up was chosen.

Another with the Sound Ordnance powered sub behind the driver's seat (not like I ever have passengers in my access cab). I just looked at my old Amazon orders and I've got a PioneerAVH-P4200DVD head unit, Pioneer GM-D9500F amp under the seat (75wx4) and I think Polk speakers (ordered from Crutchfield at the same time as the sub)- separates in the front and two-way 6.5" in the back. Definitely not going to win any competitions but I'm not a kid anymore, I've already got some hearing loss so no need to get crazy or be a douchebag and annoy others. With a little eq work it sounds good with rock, jazz, audiobooks, etc.

It's good enough for most music as long as you're not trying to host an EDM festival, listening to (c)rap or trying to annoy other drivers, it's not like the cabs of these trucks are very large.

Yup. Not into anything like that. Just fill in that little bit of missing low end sound.

    Too few to list.
What's the best place to pull signal for the LOC?

This is how I set mine up. Bolted it to the plastic panel. It's held up on all the bumpy roads in Maine

It's purpose is to convert speaker level signals (directly from the HU) to high-quality pre-amp signals suitable for input into an aftermarket amplifier, so I pulled it from the HU's speaker outputs.

I can't quote a specific thread, but I have seen across various threads that it is possible to flip just the crossbar to allow for more room under the passenger seat. Someone in this thread even mentioned it
