Redline MT-90

Can someone who has swapped this fluid into their manual trans recommend a good hand pump that will screw onto the top of the quart bottles?

I saw a post somewhere on the interwebs that some hand pumps do not fit onto the Redline MT-90 quart bottle.

Maybe this one... Can anyone confirm this will fit?

I could use a pump with a pick up line that doesn't screw on, but I'd rather not.

 

The MT90 gallon jug works great with the normal hand pumps, but as for the quart sized ones I haven't found one yet that does. I usually just cut out a wider opening in the bottle so the pump goes all the way in.

Did my diffs and MT all at once, and all Redline.

 

I wouldn't use the pump enough to justify that price, but thanks anyway.

 

Yeah I guess I'll end up doing that. I just don't wanna spill it, haha. I was hoping to find a screw on pump this time.

I might just get this gallon jug instead of quarts. The quart bottles say 75w90, but the gallon jug does not. From the descriptions they are the same product. Right?
EDIT: Wrong. I had clicked on the wrong product for the quart bottle.

 

MT90 is what you want for the transmission. The regular 75w90 are for the diffs.

 

Yep, now I see. I made a mistake and clicked on the wrong product and confused myself. The MT90 quart bottle and the 75w90 quart bottles look very similar! Oops.

 

Make sure it's MT90. A GL-5 75w90 for diffs will damage your synchros.

 

You can pump out of the 1Qt Redline bottles, the intake end of the hand pump usually has a thin hose that’ll fit in.

Something like this, I wouldn’t use it for air but it works for oil transfer

Interestingly, owners manual states transmission oil can affect "idle sound." Lol. I mean, ok I guess.

 

Yeah, I was gonna pick up a new (clean) pump like this. The one I have is old and feels like it has worn seals, probably from pumping gasoline.

Then I thought maybe I could get a screw on pump that would avoid spilling/wasting/making a mess. No big deal, though.

 

This one served me well. A hell of a shoulder / arm exercise but precise and did turn job for cheap cheap.

 

Just go to your nearest outboard motor shop as they will sell the pumps like in your picture. They go into 1 quart jugs and used to fill the outboard legs with gear oil.

 

The slippery Pete pump will work. It’s a little tight but put a little pressure on it and it slides in. Just used it with MT-90 on my truck last week.

I don’t think the pump is going to screw on tight to the quart bottle but it’s tight enough where I had zero issues with filling.

 

Nice. I'm looking forward to some smoother "cold' shifts.

 

Mine is a bit smoother. But I havent seen a huge difference yet (only 1 week of driving since the drain / refill).
