Mine frayed slowly over the past 3 years! I kept putting it off to do something until recently because it was becoming a problem it was so frayed. I think the initial tear or rip was from that lower seat molding where there was a small crack the belt got caught on and I had that problem with the belt not retracting all the way and it would get caught in the door! Update on the electrical connector: Found an old one off a 2003 wreck in the junkyard.......$5 ! Sweet, now I just have to make the splice and all should be good!
    Keeping my fingers crossed!

    Sounds good man.

Yeah fraying can be a natural consequence of using it ... it's one of those "wear items" that makes any vehicle look and feel its age. The other aspect of old seatbelts is that they get nasty with sweat and dirt, too, and really show it if they aren't black or at least gray. Can't really wash them, as soap can degrade the webbing and create a safety concern. And have you ever noticed how old ones will become less soft/pliable?

Low on the priority list for me right now "since they work" but if I had the cash I'd not hesitate to get new ones.
