I probably did. I've been messing around trying to learn what modules do what and watching videos of people explain them. I think LightRoom is much simpler and user-friendly than DarkTable from the looks of it

I'm still learning as well. One of the first photo's I took was of my motorcycle and had the iso at like 1600. It almost looked like it was snowing there was so much noise in it. I've never heard of the DarkTable program but see if there is a slider for noise reduction. The only thing with that is that you will lose clarity. Shooting in Manual has really helped me to understand more about the camera.

The capabilities of Lightroom are really mind blowing. I took this photo a week or so ago. I guessed the exposure and snapped a few pictures and jumped back in the Taco. Lightroom can really save underexposed pictures. I only wish they still supported the standalone version with updates.

@E-Paz 732NJ Also check out GIMP. It's a free GNU manipulation program. A lot like Photoshop. I use it a lot to remove objects that throw the shot off. I.e. mailboxes haha

Here’s a few from this weekend.
Wreaths Across America Annual wreath laying ceremony at 1,600 different Veterans Cemeteries in the USA.
I attended the one in King, Wisconsin

    7,600 wreaths
And after all the volunteers went home it was completely silent and breathtakingly beautiful. So thankful I was able to attend and place wreaths on family members graves. So many sacrificed so much for our freedoms!

Friends participated in the event in HI where he is currently stationed.

It’s truly breathtaking to see the wreaths on these soldiers graves.

Please thank your cousin for his service. I spent one week on board and saw first hand how difficult it is. Most people really have no idea.
Btw, in that pic, my son was at the helm. Proud dad!

Recently became unemployed and am taking 6-12 months off. With my new found freedom, I decided to get back into outdoor/landscape Photography with a DSLR outfit (my last one was back in the film days). Wanted full frame and after weeks of searching, I found this D810 and 18-35 F4 on eBay for substantial savings (separate purchases). Under $1600 for both and both are USA models. The D810 only had 23 shutter actuations and the lens is mint. Excited to get back out there.

Welcome back , if you could find a 70-200 F4 that would be great as well.
I shoot almost all outdoors and have other lenses ,but almost never use them. Although I have Canon stuff ,the 17-40 F4 and70-200 are all I really need

Thanks. Next lens would be either 24-120 F4 or the 70-200 F4. But I want to get out and learn this camera/lens combo before adding to the fleet.

With my previous kit (Pentax) with multiple lenses, like you, I used one lense 90% of the time and the others collected dust and I got sick of carrying all that gear around. I think it was an 18-135 (or something close). Thus my leaning toward the 24-120 next.

Just picked up a Sony RX100v7.

I know, I know...not really that fantastic for stills. Really picked it up for size and video capabilities. Kinda learning all this photography stuff.

I'm looking to get into the photography game since we've gotten more interested in camping and wheeling. I'm looking at a Canon T7 bundle and the reviews look promising. I looked around and didn't find any stickies or cumulated links to help beginners with learning the ins and outs of photography. Can someone point in a direction of somewhere that has inclusive how-to's?
