Post #1 here. Excited to be a part of this community and finally have a 2017 Tacoma Sport in the driveway. I’ve been in love with 4runners and Tacoma’s since I was a kid. Since then I’ve been in a Chevy Tahoe, Acura TL-S and an Audi A4. All have been great, with the exception of how expensive the Audi A4 was to maintain after it hit 100k miles. I couldn’t believe how often it was in the shop. I digress... Out with the old and in with the new!

I hear you on the European car service costs. It’s the reason you can pick up 10-15 year old low mileage Mercedes, BMW and Audi’s for a song. The older couples who bid on these on Mecum auctions etc. have no idea what financial surprises await them

They do. Had these on my 1st gen. Looked good on that too. It has a feature a lot of others don't: valve stem protection. One of my favorite OEM wheels along with the "5 star" 3rd gen 4Runner Limited.

Truck got a little off trail, slid down an embankment and was leaning on a tree which busted my window and bent in my door.

Man, really sorry for you but I guess it could have been much worse. o_O:eek:
At least it happened while you were out having some fun!
That doesn't look as if rock sliders would have helped either.

Ouch, that sucks. But as long as no one was hurt, the truck can always be fixed

Just purchased my first Tacoma 2017 TRD Off Road

Not sure if I will do anything to it other than maybe some black badges and maybe a pro grill. I'm super proud of it!

Yep, no one was hurt just my ego. The damage on the truck is only part of the story. Me and my friend in town were trying to head to this cabin in the woods. I didn’t listen to the owner of the cabin who said don’t drive there (it’s a forest road in the summer). So after the truck got stuck I called some tow companies, and none of them could winch me out.

Luckily we have this volunteer rescue group that will come and get you out. So I called them and told them we are going to hike in deep snow to find this cabin at night. Anyways after .8 miles we never found the cabin, and our phones were dying. Luckily I got one last call out and I asked them if they could come get us from my truck and take us to a hotel.

So, after a good sleep in a hotel, the same guys showed up at 9am and were able to winch me out of there. I’m glad these guys could help me get out and I also learned how to get myself out (once I have my winch).
