I know this is kind of a dead thread, but I'm hoping I can get some guidance. I just purchased my first Tacoma (2018 TRD OR) and have a few upgrades in mind for the future. Although I have several friends and co-workers that also own Tacomas, they have no desire to modify their trucks from stock. So, I'm looking for suggestions as far a shops that you might recommend in the south Mississippi area. I live in Ellisville, MS, and I like to try and keep my money local (within 100 miles) when possible. First major upgrade I'd like to do is a suspension (which I probably could do myself), but when I get the suspension I'd like to also go up in tire size, which means I'd like to bump up to 4.88 or 5.29 gears. I'd prefer that work to be done by a professional that has experience with Tacomas. Thanks

Congratulations on the truck and welcome to TacomaWorld!
I’m down in Gulfport but have some friends of the family in Laurel that I can reach out to for shop recommendations.
I love Ellisville, my grandparents raised my dad and his siblings there, in fact their house is for sale across from David Merchant park on Graves Rd. Of course I also really enjoy the gun shop in town, I believe they’re called hunters edge, I stop in pretty much anytime I’m up that way.

Thank you very much for the assist! Yes, I love it here. I'm not originally from Ellisville, but it feels more like home than any other place I've been. I live down Graves Rd, so I think I know the place you're referring. Very cool.

To be honest I don't know any of shops around here or anywhere else I would trust to do work on my truck. I would do It myself. There are plenty of write-ups and videos to follow.

What size tires are you going to?

I’m really only interested in a professional doing the diff gear changes. Too much precision needed for my experience level. I’d plan on going with 33” tires as a maximum.

I would put them on and drive it to see how they feel. 33's are not that bad it's only a 2 inch jump

I ordered the third member and front clamshell from https://eastcoastgearsupply.com/
I couldn't be happier with their customer service. If there is a problem they will fix it.

they send you one already regeared and you just install it and send your used one back to them

They have a 5 year warranty on assembled third members too. You won't get that anywhere else

Thank you for the info! Now that’s something I’m comfortable trying. I really appreciate it. 5 year warranty is definitely a plus
