I am a complete rookie when it comes to these trucks. Can I run these batteries
Zeee 2S Lipo Battery 7.4V 50C 5200mAh RC Lipo Batteries Hard Case with Deans Plug for 1/8 1/10 RC Vehicles Car Trucks Airplane Boats(2 Pack) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07RBTVBY3/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_FDZgEbX7FWGQ1

    in this truck?

Axial SCX10 II Trail Honcho 4WD RC Rock Crawler Off-Road 4x4 Electric RTR with 2.4Ghz Radio, Waterproof ESC & LED Lights, 1/10 Scale RTR (Tan) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078T2NF98/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_aDZgEbYXYSSWB
Amazon is recommending a battery of the same specs, but a single battery for $40 when these two are $35

I’m learning too, and I think that we need 11v batteries for these trucks. I’m sure guys like @Silverspool and @Tundra2Play can confirm for us. Excellent question btw. I was doing the same research.

^^Also, my boys each have a stampede, would I be able to get an adaptor to use their charger? Sorry for all the questions, just not sure which direction I need to go.

on stock brushed electronics, 7.4v (2s) is what youll want to run to keep the motor healthy as long as possible. Zeee batteries are good, i run a few myself. Axial does use t-connectors/Deans connectors so make sure the batteries are the same

i think traxxas has some special ID system and im not really sure how that works as far as battery charging but yes you can buy adapters on Amazon as well, traxxas to t-connector/deans

Bit of advice, id run a smaller battery though to keep center of gravity as low as possible, 2200 mah - 3500 mah will still get you 1-2 hrs of run time.

i run 1300-1500mah in my rigs for 45 mins of run time.

Those batteries will work just fine. Theyre pretty large, so you can probably get about 3-4 hours of run time on a single charge. The 2S (7.4v) will be slower than a 3S (11.1v) but less likely to break stuff with the extra speed/power. Most of us started with 2S batteries on stock ESC & brushed motors, but have since upgraded to brushless motors on 3S as we got deeper in the hobby. I would say to start with 2S. When shopping for batteries, note that there are several different connector types, Deans, XT60, Traxxas and more.. SCX10 will come with Deans plugs. Make sure you're looking for those. If you happened to get a Traxxas TRX-4, Traxxas uses proprietary connectors. You can always get an adapter or have the hobby shop make you some kind of adapter lead if needed to go from Traxxas to Deans, etc.
I believe the Stampede uses proprietary Traxxas batteries, so same as above, adapters are available or can be made. Not sure what their charger looks like, but you might want to get a universal type like this if the Stampede charger is basic plugin without a screen.
