What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

I grabbed a Backroadz bed tent - seems really well made. Anybody else ever had one of these things who might want to share some tips?


I also put together this mock-up of what I may do looks-wise to the truck. Thoughts?

I just bought one this summer, 2001 green sr5. Only thing i really want to change is the front seats, its got 117k miles on it but the drivers seat has a like a bar where the lumbar support should be that kills my back if i sit in it for more than an hour.

 

He literally wrote he didn't know why everyone hates them and then he wrote that he didn't use them. Lol! Different strokes for different folks I guess...

 

Uh. No. I wrote that I used them, I didn't use their clips. Reading comprehension matters.

Thanks. I've installed leaf packs and standard u bolts before, but I was looking for u-bolt flip kit info in particular since the assembly is flipped around. When I did a test fit it looked like the upside down threads were awfully close to the frame and that it might be a tight fit to get a wrench in there.

 

No worries. Like I said, I just have not had an issue yet. I'm comforting myself that I didn't keep the OEM brackets and just tossed the radio. Some of this is wish fulfillment

the only place I can find that sells 3rd gen Bumpers is coastal Offroad but I do like their style. The options I want I can score front and rear bumper for 1k

 

okie dokie my .02;
- color match the grill, mirrors, door handles and rear bumper
- lift that bad boy up 2-3 inches
- no white walls.....PLEASE

I'm custom making a part for Tacomas. It's got several different angles and I was having a little trouble seeing it in my head so I decided to photoshop it so I could print it and refer to it while making the actual part. I got really close to finishing it, had been working on photoshop for over an hour, and my ancient PC froze. Now I've got a picture of a rusty bolt blocking my view of what I was drawing so I can't even see the damn thing I was drawing. The mouse won't move. I hadn't saved any of the progress yet so when I reboot the PC I'll lose it all. Is it beer thirty yet somewhere? Lol

 

Looks good. I'd probably color match the grille surround if it was for me.

 

Install a set of 37" tires, add a long bed, paint it black, add every spacer and block known to man.. wait a minute that's my truck lol

3" lift, TRD wheels, TRD stickers, TRD Pro grille, 32.8" tires, and 1,000 pounds of bumpers and you've got a winner!

So we’re getting 70cm plus of snow in the next 24 hours. Piled up the bed with some snow to help for traction.

 

I'm more for not leaving anything in aluminum heads for 100K..and then hoping like hell they break free....and leave the threads in the head...
