Maybe I can make my own shroud to adapt the flexalite to the radiator.

Why don't you adapt a larger shroud instead?

Wanted to revisit an old inquiry from a while ago.

We got into a conversation about catch cans (no I am not getting into one) and I noted that I do not run one but I do, however, run an inline air/ oil separator valve between the PCV valve and the supercharger. Some of you inquired to know more about it but I had no part number or further info for it at the time. I revisited the topic again because I personally wanted to know myself as it had been THAT long ago. Here you go.

I don’t see how this small brake power booster part could possibly work for filtering clean air. Brake fluid is a completely different animal than the oil a catch can collects. When a catch can is installed properly with a TRD blower then it usually will collect about 3 oz every 5k miles.

I don’t know. I like a clean inner cooler that’s oil residue free and my catch achieves that

There never was any brake fluid attempting to go through it. It was designed for early EFI and late model carburetor equipped GM vehicles.

It may not catch it all for me, I'll never know until I open up the interior of the blower to know, but it is there more as a small safeguard outside of going a full blown catch can setup for me and that alone is more than enough to make me happy.

This is more for folks who don't want to run a full on catch setup, but want some sort of level of vapor inhalation prevention protection and want more of an "OE solution" style looking appearance for when it comes to smog inspection time. They may see it, but will not even bat an eye at it.

Should add that to page 1. I scored a screaming deal on black friday from Mishimoto for their baffled setup or I would have given this a go.

no idea. I would assume most folks will be golden as long as the carb sticker for the SC is there. I have some buddies with them but not sure they have had to smog them yet.

I guess well see. I am prob due for a smog sometime soon. Have not had to get one yet. Almost forgot they exist.

Mine passed smog with the catch can on my naturally aspirated setup. The tech looked at it for a few seconds but just moved on. I'll wait to see if he bothers with a second can lol. @TRON do you run a second for the crank case vent on the passenger side?

2 eh? I have not seen 2 being run yet.

Either way I kept mine black so its stock looking. Too much grab in the engine bay now they may not even notice it.

Most people don't because they don't remove the intake plenum and see both valve covers have a a vent. Just thought maybe the guys here have. Though the passenger side one does not have a PCV and more of a breather port. I use cheap Chinese ones because most of the catch cans are coming out of there.

got it. I have a cheaper one and picked up a nicer one only because it was almost 50% off. Held off on putting it on N/A and will add it when the blower goes on.

If I could afford the expensive stuff, I would have. The cheaper ones need a bit of fixing, cleaning the rough ports and I added some stainless steel scrubber material to catch the oil vapors. A stainless mesh would work too. If the weather gets better, I plan on installing my s/c this week. Got my Ur.d ucon back from reconfig and deatschwerks fuel filter with AN fittings.

I'll add later. I just wanted to make a preliminary post about it to get back to the guys who asked about it like half a year to a year ago. :p

When the engine is running, both valve covers do not vent, with all hoses properly attached per OE specification. The passenger side is the fresh air inlet, for the driver side to be pulled from, into the plastic upper plenum.

well i found my issue with the codes. cyl 5&6 have very low compression. 140 on rest 60 on 5&6. looking at my options now for rebuild or replace or v8. sucks for a 36k mile motor.
