    I have read a lot on here- but I am still not 100% sure my info is right...
    I have a 2012 Off Road Tacoma 4x4. I would like to make the truck more reliable and eliminate all the crap that usually fails. A full manual 4wd system is very interesting- but I am not sure what else is needed or the total scope of work needed to get it done.
    Do the parts below rid the truck of all electronics in the driveline- to the point that you are able to remove the 4WD computer?

    Locking hubs;

    I never liked the fact that the truck was always pushing the front diff gears. So I found that there are a couple kits to switch your truck over to locking hubs so the front wheels can free wheel when unlocked (most of my driving).

    ADD delete;

    Use the AWD manual FJ Cruiser axle and tube and you are rid of the ADD at the front diff.

    FJ Cruiser TC;

    Sourced from an automatic FJ.

    Shorten rear drive shaft;
    I think the rear driveshaft needs shortened to install this case- so it would be a good time to install a dual carton joint to help reduce vibration.

    Hmm... after writing all this I am wondering if just the unlocking hubs will get me most of what I want. But it would seem a shame to have it all ripped apart and not do the ADD at the front diff. I guess I could do those two and leave the TC case and drive shaft for later.
    Lots of time to ponder, no work till the warmer weather.
