Arb summit bumper. Morimoto led headlights and new grill. Grill and lights have sequential turn signals.
Aero are solid and make for other under contract.
If you want a billet for under $80 try dark hour defense.
    I like mine.
But from experience do not use clamp receiver blocks when building.

Why not use a clamp receiver block? I was debating getting one, but I’m on the fence since I don't see using it a lot.

Because there can be various slight size differences between manufacturers of cast, forged and billet.
A clamp block can bend things.
Brownell and others make blocks that hold by the pins.

I'm a big fan of reaction rods if you're not a gorilla. The magpul block is probably my favorite though, as it is both a reaction rod and upper support, very user friendly.

Anyone ever had damage to a muzzle brake or flash hider? This is the factory muzzle brake on my FN15 rifle. Still tight as can be. Took a rifle class last night and went to clean it and noticed the damage. The only difference I made was a new brand of ammo. I've had thousands of rounds fly just fine before last night. Took to my gun store and he said it was crap ammo. Either the jacket was breaking apart and hitting the muzzle brake or the ammo was yawing just enough to strike it. Everything last night was fast and within 50 yards. I did notice 1 hole in my target that was keyholed. Anyone have an idea? Or what to do next? Still waiting to hear back from FN unfortunately. If I can't get this done fast or free I will probably put on a regular flash hider to use up the last 1k rounds of this ammo before putting a new brake on.

Lots of possible factors. How many rounds through the barrel thus far? Old barrels keyhole something fierce.

What ammo/twist rate? 77gr out of a 9 twist barrel is only marginally stable in good conditions.

The brake still looks functional, I'd pull it and throw on a FH until you finish off this batch then go back to it.

I’ve had muzzle wear on my flashhider from running the suppressor.. never had issues with in suppressed though. Many factors can cause this. Did you use a crush washer? Slight chance the flash hider isn’t 100% true to the bore. I use shims to avoid this. It’s a bigger issue on suppressors because of baffle strikes

Maybe 3,000 rounds so far in 2 years. This gun is exactly how FN made it so I didn't have control of the crush washer. 55 grain Hornady Frontier fmj ammo in a 1/7 twist.

Hmm. Interesting. Honestly I wouldn’t worry too much. It’s still perfectly functional.

My concern is the possibility of it causing a bullet to take of in an unintended direction or causing the brake to break apart and hurt someone next to me.

I emailed surefire (the manufacturer of the brake) and still waiting to see what they say.

While technically possible. I’ve never seen or heard of that happening. Unless of course it came loose, but you checked that.

FN in my experiences with them have been pretty good to deal with, good chance they’ll send you a new one.

Another option is throw an a2 flash hider on there and never worry about it again.

I think that is what I will do. But dang this thing is a flat shooter with this brake. Makes me look better than I really am.

But watching an older gentleman shoot with a plain jane ar15 in a class out shoot everyone makes you think lol

Oh trust me, the brake on my spikes build make it flat. But even my m16a1 with the basic flash hider shoots pretty flat. Break helps with follow up shots for sure. But 5.56 ain’t as bad as 7.62. I

There are a few post on ar15 . com about that ammo causing issues. The general consensus is avoid it.

    The break is still good

Looks like a lot of powder scouring, that can happen with some crap ammo that burns slow or short barrel.

I see definite divots in that metal that look like off-kilter bullet strikes. You'd figure powder scouring would be a bit more uniform.

    One would feel a hit.
That's not soft or thin metal like a baffle in a can.
I have the short Daniel defense break on my gun, I know the barrel is shot out and I'm not getting mark's like that.
My barrel is a short 10 inch on a registered full auto lower.
I get keyholes at 20 feet. Lol
Built a new top for it.

Fair point, I've never experienced one myself so I can't testify to the experience first hand.
