The weather finally let up this weekend for this install. I was all pumped to get this over with. And then this.

The bushing is clearly smaller than the needle bearing. The needle bearing slide further back into the shoulder. The bushing got stuck at the spline.

Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? @ECGS

Wait so it already had that bottom bushing on the CV shaft when you pulled it out?

Wait I think I get it, the bushing ID is too small. Looks like a mixup on the ecgs bushing. Maybe for the 7.5 clam instead of 8 clamshell

Wait. Another picture just uploaded to his original post. I think.

Did you check inner diameter of the bearing and the bushing? That'll be a quick tell if they are the same size

I’d say they sent the wrong part possibly.

The thumbnail attachment says 7.5 bushing. Looks like the wrong part. Need 8" clamshell bushing.

Mistakes happen but talk to ECGS. Seems like compensation should be in order. Luckily you didn't pay a shop to do this otherwise it would be double the labor.

yeah there's the 7.5 and 8 inch one. Just saw your order form and yeah it's the wrong one (7.5). Depending on how the order was input then it's either on you for ordering the wrong one or on them for taking your vehicle info and sending out the wrong one. Either way, contact ECGS and get the correct one sent out pronto to get you back on the road

You would expect inputting car information, one of the rep’s would’ve caught it. Bummer man!

That sucks. Call ecgs first thing in the morning. They can and will overnight you the correct part.

I'm amazed they sent you the wrong part. On their website under 05+ tacoma the only option for bushing is the 8".

Not sure what the original link I've got. I ordered at work so it's on the work computer.

It’s no big deal. I’m sure ECGS will make it right. Thanks guys. I thought I was smoking something.

BTW, There's no gear oil oozing out when i pulled the needle bearing. Should I be worry that there's isn't enough gear oil in the diff?

Check it when it’s back together, level & on the ground. Good practice is to change it in a little while anyway.
