I am looking into the KM717 Bully Wheel. I contacted KMC and the 17 inch specs are as follows:

    17x8.5
    6x139.7 Bolt Pattern
    4.75 backspace
    0 Offset
    106.25 bore

They say this will fit the my 2011 Tacoma however they say the 16 inch wheel will not and this is the specs

    16x8
    6x139.7 Bolt Pattern
    4.5 backspace
    0 Offset
    106.25 bore

They say the 16 inch will not clear the pads or suspension because it has to small of an inner diameter. Is this accurate? I currently have 16 inch stock steel wheels on it.

If I go with the 17 inch one a 265/70 R17 should fit with no rub correct?

Out fitment system shows the 16x8 6-139.7 0 Bully wheel as a fit which it should with you having 16 inch wheels already. They may have some additional information we don't have. You can also go with the 17x8.5 0 with 265/70R-17. This is a common fit for Tacomas.

I can't find these wheels on your website. What would the cost be for the 17" in bronze?

Just noticed you stated that you're after the KM717 version of the Bully. The information we provided earlier was for the XD 127 Bully - our apologies for the confusion!

We do not carry the KM717 at this time, however, we can special order it. I'll check with KMC on Monday when they resume business hours to check price and availability

Just got off the line with KMC, Devlop - thank you for your patience!

The 17x8.5 is currently on back order for another 3 to 4 weeks and current pricing for this model is $185.00 each.

As for the 16-inch flavor, per KMC this size does not work. It wasn't clear what exactly is going to rub, but it has something to do with inner barrel clearance.

That’s too bad the 16 does not fit. I am still not sure what it would fit then. How many 6x139.7 vehicles with the exact bore dimensions of the Tacoma are there. I am not sure how they say the 16 inch does not fit. Does the 8.5 inch wide 17 inch rim have any issues with a 265 wide tire. Current stock steels are 16x7 so just wondering if the 8.5 wide has no issues with just a 265.

    Mpivovar,

16" wheels are actually quite popular on the Tacoma. You can view the selection we offer online HERE.

For clarity sake I called KMC to get more details regarding the 16" fitment. The reason the Bully wont fit is due to the design of the drop center portion of the barrel, it will likely interfere with the top of the brake caliper.

In regards to the 17 X 8.5 and the 265 tires, yes the 265 would fit an 8.5 wheel all day long

Feel free to reach out should you have any further questions, Also I can contact KMC in the coming weeks and post when the 17s are available.

Getting close to pulling trigger on getting these. Just confirming do I need to get new lug nuts for these KMC wheels and new TPMS. I currently just have the stock steels on my 2011 Tacoma?

    Hi, @mpivovar

Yes - new smaller diameter lug hardware (12x1.5 Extended thread - conical seat) are needed as well as new TPMS sensors with the proper angle to fit aluminum wheels.

    Hey @Discount Tire

Was reading through this, got a little confused, was hoping you wouldn’t mind helping me clarify?

I just ordered a set of the KMC 717 OL Bully, size 17 x 8.5. Will I be ok going with a 265/70/17 tire? This is going on a factory Tacoma SR.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

    First off, welcome to TW!

This should work, if you went with the 0 offset its possible you could rub the air dam or mudflaps if they are factory for your year. We would be happy to offer further assistance, PM on the way.
