So I have never wired any lights in my truck or my home so learning as I go.

I need a solution for wiring four scene lights on my roof rack. I understand how to wire them to a relay and a switch in the cab, but since I have my headliner down, how would I go about wiring it to go on with my dome lights when I unlock the car? And how would I wire it so that I have an external (roof rack mounted switch) to also control each side independently when I’m camping and outside of the car.

    thanks

yeah I 2nd the DSIM module. Tapping into the dome circuit isn't easy in our trucks. And it's a very low-amp circuit. The module listed above AND an external relay will be the best solution for 4 lights.

as for controlling them individually, you're getting deep into the weeds and I'm not saying this to sound rude or be a jerk, but that's going to require way more knowledge than the average person has. You're getting into multiple circuits, wiring in diodes, all sorts of additional stuff.

@MESO is working on a switch for his puddle pods for on/off/dome control. I"m pretty sure it can be used in conjunction with the @DSIM module. Those two pieces (and an external relay) would be the ideal solution for an easy install

The problem though is that the dome/maps are negative-switched, and PWM so they can fade in and out (at least I read that somewhere and believe it to be true.) So tapping into the dome + like drawn above will just give you constant 12v.
That's where the DSIM module comes in. It triggers an internal relay once the dome is triggered to create a + output.
This same thing can be done with something like a TR-7 module but needs programming and splicing. The DSIM just makes a nice plug/play solution.
