What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

I’ve had two sets of the Monroe quick struts,
Both sets gave out leaking after about 30k or 40k.

They don’t compare to the kings but the kings are very expensive and a much larger size strut and stronger spring. Now my truck is perfectly leveled too because they are adjustable in height.
They can handle pot holes for example pretty easily while the Monroe the truck feels the jarring effect

 

Took the old truck up to 11k ft in Colorado after comparing trucks with 1997tacomav6
Did a few laps in 4wd around a semi plowed rest stop way high up there!

Got incredible fuel mileage somehow
Almost 22 per gallon

Back home I can barely get 20 anymore!

Is it a result of the thinner air in Colorado?

You will have to look hard, I didn’t see my leaks this last time till the struts were off the truck.

I swapped out my old steering wheel for a Lexus IS300 one with a Rav4 center section and 4Runner column plastic.
I still need to get the correct clock spring and do the resistors on the C/C shaft.
But I like how it looks.

 

Curious on what those two controllers are to the left of your wheel?

Dual battery voltage meter.
And the red button below is the control switch for the dual battery controller.

 

Anyone know if it's possible to order a MAF gasket somewhere? It's not from Toyota. Can only get it with the sensor.

Just mounted my winch battery isolator.

Now just to find some switches to match the ARB ones and then I can wire it up.

 

I still need to get the black 4runner steering column plastic for mine.

 

There is a 4Runner in my local salvage yard that has them. I can grab them and bring it down with me for the tail run.
