I found Crutchfield good to order from. When you add the speakers into your cart you automatically have the wire harness and mounting bracket added for free. Pricing was the same from Crutchfield.ca as Crutchfield.com plus fees. Shipping was quick and I received 2 boxes on the same day. First box was delivered by UPS 4 speaker brackets and 2 front wire harness. Second box delivered 1 hour later by Purolator with front and rear speakers. Had to order rear speaker wire harness as 2020 Tacoma has changed.

Probably because the tweeter upgrade is by Kicker and they are actually really good tweeters for the price. Also, not all Kicker products are bad. In fact - most companies make good and bad stuff relative to cost. You'd be foolish to think otherwise (not suggesting that's what you think - just saying).

Funny enough the only audio upgrades I've done are by Kicker, but it's coincidental. The tweeter upgrade is self explanatory. The other is my Kicker Hideaway sub under my seat (which I pulled from my last vehicle). I don't like using up usable space for subs and amps, and the hideaway is probably the best sub that can realistically fit under a seat.

I agree with this for the most part. They definitely aren't "crap" The system I put in my 4Runner costed over $1200 (alpine speakers, 1000W NVX amp, Kenwood powered amp) It sounded great. Didn't take up any more space then the original system did. Took me a couple days to put in. Did it sound $700 better? I don't know which put into perspective what I really wanted my audio to sound like - louder but not deafening- clearer at the volume I like to listen to music. This kicker system accomplishes that so I very happy with it. To each they're own though.

Picture of rear door bracket with and without tabs. There is a small hole in the top of the bracket for the wire to enter.

When installing the speaker to the bracket I chose to install the speaker logos upside down because the wire harness is short and the speaker tabs are on the bottom. Once the speaker is installed on the bracket then install on the door.

I’ve never understood this “upgrade”. Install Subaru tweeters, then take a woofer out of the door and add something with another tweeter in it and woofer behind.

I’ve never had a complaint about my OEM non JBL sound system. Just had to tweak it a bit. I would love to get a sub at some point, just not getting spending the money unless you you are doing it correctly (components, amps, sub)

it’s like putting spacers and blocks to lift the truck. Just my opinion

Here is the front door speaker installed showing the 3 screws that align to the bracket. The last hole needs to be drilled. These front speakers add bass that you can feel in the door and floor. Most of the sound is heard from the tweeters in the factory setup, once you swap out the door speakers a big difference is heard. I also replaced the 2 dash tweeters with the Subaru kickers.

Yeah I think that's overkill. Any decent tweeter will markedly improve the sound. IF one went with a tweeter in the dash it would make sense to install a component speaker in the doors, not a 3-way. I did not install a tweeter in the dash--had planned to, but the one I bought wouldn't have worked easily, so I just went with the KS speaker in the front doors. It GREATLY sharpens up the music. It may not be a $3000 system but for a bit over a hundred dollars installed, it was a great bang for the buck.

    Subaru Kicker Tweeter - H631SFJ101

    - What is the benefit?
Bass as an important addition to any audio system, but sometimes it simply isn’t enough to consider it “great-sounding.” A pair of high-performance Tweeters sweetens the high end of the spectrum and completes the ultimate musical experience. Tweeters provide the high-range clarity that a system requires, adding live-performance realism in any vehicle
    - Who makes the tweeters? Manufactured for Subaru of America by Kicker®
    - How do they install? Drop-in factory upgrade for easy fitment and Plug and Play connections
    - What are the specifications?
