Just mounted it today, I built it out of 1x2 1/8" wall steel. Count out the tools and it cost me $250 in steel and $12 in gussets. Rustoleum spray on bed liner coating. Rack is removable so I can still utilize my bed when I need it. Poly bushings and 9/16 bolts mount it to the side rails. I will be mounting a Smittybilt Overlander XL to the top of it once its delivered. Stoked with how it turned out. Haven't weighed it yet but shes got some heft to her, not too much though that I cant lift it and hold it while the wife tosses in the bolts.

Love it. Been looking around for racks that are easily removable to work with a Softopper. Great job!

It's a work in progress. See my build thread.
Nothing special, but bed bars just the same.

If I may comment I would avoid Datin Metal Fab entirely. The owner Ed Datin and my brother restarted DMF to sell racks like those but after a while Ed stole my brothers initial 10k investment and kicked him out of the company, stealing his designs and badmouthing us to our mutual contacts. My brother and I have started a new company focused on true creativity and innovation in the offroad market and are just about to release our website! Check out our instagram @creofabusa

Each leg has an 1 3/4" 1/8" wall piece of tube about 2-3 inches long and I used a 1.5" silicone bushing on either side of the tube. 1 3/4" tube with an 1/8" wall makes the inside diameter 1.5" almost exactly. Then a grade 8 bolt i believe is 9/16" thick through the center.
Bed rails have 1/4" thick gusset tabs welded to them. I have more pics in my build thread here if you want more pics. (also in my signature)

Don't know if I posted here, but here is the rack I made a week or so back. Key point was to be clear for a canoe on top, and two bikes on side.

Nice job man looks professionally done! Lots of people mount shovels and traction boards like you already mentioned but add stuff you use regularly or may need in a pinch. Axes, high lift jacks, plano/apache/pelican boxes with recovery gear, first aid boxes, fire extinguishers, and lights are all handy to have dependent on what you need on a regular basis.
