seems odd to make major changes to a truck model in it's last year of production.

Well if you're going to buy one, this is the one to get, or a 2019 if you can still find one. The new ones are supposedly going to be very Navarra-ish (yuck).

The 2019 Frontier is one of the best trucks out there from a value perspective IMO. Time tested, reliable, solid, classic looks.

    Yes, in 2010 or 2011 I believe.

That 9 speed auto transmission is interesting. Kind of an oddball. Toyota will likely have an 8speed auto in the next Tacoma as they have added 1 gear with every generation.

What is wrong with the TQ number? It is higher than any other normally aspirated gas mid-size truck. If you want more then you have to either get the Ranger or the diesel option in the GM twins.

My questions is what RPMs are needed to get the HP & TQ numbers.

I like my Frontier, zero issues so far. Might jump at this depending on the increase in price. Only draw back is no manual any longer.

If you google 2021 nissan frontier, you can see what it looks like. Iirc, it's called the navara in other markets. Some of the renders for the off road version definitely have me ready to trade my tacoma for one if they end up looking like that. I've always been a nissan guy but just bought a 2019 tacoma bc the current frontier is far too dated.

It's still staggering to me how long the current US Frontier has been out (and I even owned one). I'm going to be 35 this year, and the current Frontier came out the year I graduated high school. lol

What is equally strange is the new Frontier has been out since 2014 elsewhere. Why is the old one still being sold in the US?

this doesn’t look bad. Better than the domestic offerings.

Although the raptor lights are corny as fuck.

My guess is they had to for the EPA rating. Or they probably wouldn’t be able to sell it anymore. They probably figured why not push one more year out of that design. Also gives them a lot of testing on that tranny and motor before the new version is set to release.

IMO the 2001- 2003 were the best looking Frontier trucks. Love the supercharged version with the roof rack, fender flares, in bright blue. Couldn't find a non-rusted or wrecked blue truck to show a pic of =)
