Thoughts on this Front Bumper Replacement

I'm looking to replace my front bumper and came across this. I have a 4 banger and want to keep the weight low and I'm not interested in installing a winch. What are your thoughts on this. It is roughly only 80ish pounds and comes with the LED light.

At a quick glance it's not bad.

Pros
- actual recover points
- a bit lighter than a pelfrey hybrid (lightest I know of)
- looks like you might be able to use bamf reinforcement plates
- look of a full armor bumper (honeycomb is meh but I think it'll grow on me
- with some steel brackets, buddy with a welder, and a weekend I think you could mock/tack up some Baja design pod brackets behind the honeycomb

Cons
- none of it looks like it can take much of a hit (centerpiece has weird bracket design to mounting points)

But that's about all I can think of. And the con isn't much of a con because id guess that 80% of people never use their armored bumpers besides to intimidate traffic. Besides that it's a really budget friendly option for 550 with shipping (minus $30 coupon), no lead times and doesn't look half bad

I say go for it. Once you get it, put it together and slap it on quickly without throwing any packaging away. If you think it sucks take it apart and send it back

Lol no idea man, I'm still rocking the stock bumper so I couldn't tell ya.

 

Double check the integrity of those recovery points before you try them out. Some of these Chinese bumpers just have them welded right onto the plate rather than through it and yank off during a recovery becoming projectiles.

 

There’s a few quality vendors that offer aluminum bumpers. I would go that route instead

 

Demello has aluminum bumpers. Spendy but nice.

 

We can't compete with china bumpers on price, and I understand that everyone has a budget. If you are looking for a light bumper our aluminum come in around 50lbs and our steel bumpers around 115lbs. Good luck on your search!

 

I like how the honeycomb cutouts on the wings are described as "delicate". Personally wouldn't want anything "delicate" on my off-road bumper.
Probably just a poor Chinese- English translation but still.

 

Looking closely at the pics that's exactly what it looks like. They don't connect to anything.

 

kinda looks janky. not a big fan of the mesh either. when i had my 2nd gen last year i bought this bumper from ebay and that shit was awesome. not too heavy but it was strong as fuck, i took out many trees and signs with no damage to the bumper or truck. plus its the same price as the one you found on Amazon, but this one looks way nicer
