Heading to Moab, for the first time,in February solo. Wouldn’t mind having a second truck on some of the harder trails. Maybe someone that knows the area.

33s armored, winch, locked in the rear.

Trips getting closer. Rory looks like a good guy.

I searched MFFW on Facebook and got nothing.

Hi, local here. We've been getting a ton of snow lately. How long will you be here and what were you looking to do?

Snow can be a real game changer.

I should be getting there on Wednesday the 5th and staying 4-5 days.

I was planning on staying on greens mostly and maybe some easier blues if I’m solo. Find some nice views take some pictures.

Wouldn’t mind doing some harder trails if I find anyone to go.

I’m going to see if I can get some chains shipped to me before I leave.

    @HolyHandGrenade
You’re the mutha fucking best. Thanks. At the least you’ll know where the bodies are.

@cynicalrider any tips on Gaia. I got the free version, I can’t seem to search for maps away from my location. If I type in a specific trail it comes up.

    I am computer stupid, though.

I need one of the paid versions to download and use maps when I have no service right??

Yeah I think needing to pay for offline maps is new. Gaia has a little bit of a learning curve but is great once you figure it out. Typically for Moab you can just google gpx files for certain trails and upload them into gaia. But the way you download an area for offline use is pretty simple and looks like this:

    https://help.gaiagps.com/hc/en-us/articles/115003525127-Download-Maps-for-Offline-Use

Note that downloading a “map” is different from having .gpx files of a trail. You need both, but honestly in Moab everything is very well marked too so it’s hard to get off a trail.

Also  @Firebird been a while lol.

    Thanks.

Is the gpx file what you need to see your location?

I’ll be going solo so I’ll be doing mostly easier ,less popular trails I guess you could say, depending on the weather.
