Thinking about getting a 2019, and with the 2020s coming out in Aug/Sept, I was hoping there'd be some kind of manufacturer incentives on the outgoing model.

Anyone ever buy an outgoing model in August? What kind of rebates/incentives were available?

With Toyota they usually cut the price by ~$2k but increase the financing rates to near used market rates. Too be honest the Tacoma isn’t the type of vehicle where Toyota is worrying about having a last version on the lot in January of the next year so they don’t put much of a rebate on them compared to other vehicles. Highlanders and RAVs seem to get those deals but the Limited version of those vehicles is produced more than they are consumed for much of the year.

On my wife’s Ford Edge we got damn near $10k off MSRP without haggling at all. However we intentionally watched and waited for the dealership chain we deal with to get down to the last version of what we approximately wanted. By that time it was January the year after the model year and we got it for a steal.

Toyota Canada's Red Tag 1.99% financing for 36 months is what got me to pull the trigger a month ago. The Red Tag Days deal ends at the end of July to be replaced by ???

When the 2020s arrive with its upgrades (power seats, cameras, Carplay etc.) the MSRP will be increased accordingly, creating a price differential between the 2020s and 2019s without having to drop the price of a 2019.

So depending on a person's needs and financial situation it is either buy now for best price or buy 2020 for upgraded options.

BTW, I financed $39,530 for 1.99% at $1132.09/month payment for 36 months, (good thing I don't have a mortgage payment) total interest $1224.

They've also got a $1000 incentive for all Tacomas.

I like the dealer incentive campaigns where they will give you car X, if you purchase car Z.

I told the salesman when I bought the Tacoma that I thought it was a good deal, not a great deal, but all was OK because I got a great truck (exactly what I was looking for bought off my local dealer's showroom floor) and I got a great interest rate.

OEM roof rack and side steps. Keeping it clean for now.
I just traded in my 2015 for a 2019 TRD Sport. Because it was the end of the 2019 stock, they gave me the 2019 TRD SPORT for the same price that they were offering the 2020 SR5. Actually made the TRD affordable.
