    Just looked and mine shows the same FTDI driver. I'm still trying to get it working. Techstream runs fine, it's the communication thru the mini-vci that's the issue still for me. Trying a newer version of Techstream now, v15.22.026. I also have some older versions I might try if this doesn't work.

    I play enough in forests that I am seriously considering doing this but with turnbuckles and/or quick release of some sort so I can easily remove them when in the desert or snivilization. Only issue I have found that I still don't know how to work around is the snorkle. Right now, regardless of mounting points on the snorkle side the cable seems like it will just direct branches into the snorkle and that would be...less than optimal.

    Definitely. I didn't have a snorkel back then to worry about. I wonder what folks do to address that? Certainly we're not the first to have it cross our minds. Possibly turning the snorkel head backwards might help? Fabbing something to add to the roof rack to make the riser mounting point taller or similar?

    I removed the FTDI drivers, uninstalled .20. rebooted.

    Copied XHORSE to Program Files x86. Plugged in the VCI cable. Got device ready message.

    upload_2020-2-16_10-47-52.jpg

    Next I ran the Firmware update tool to verify the computer is communicating with the VCI device. All good so far. I'm talking to the cable.

    @CS_AR, got it working!

    Setup the driver stuff first. Be sure to copy the C:\<pathtounzippedfolder>\V14.20&V14.30 -ADX\V14.20&V14.30 -ADX\Techstream V14.20.019\Driver\Driver for 64bit laptop\XHorse Electronics folder into C:\Program Files (x86) first. I think that's the crucial step I was missing before hand.

    I tried 15.00.026 but didn't have anything to generate a reg key so uninstalled that and reinstalled v14.20 again, with the XHorse folder already in Program Files (x86). Once I registered, fired it all up and it finally connected to the truck.

    @xtremewlr I've got XHORSE copied. Just finished finished running the .20 installation program. How did you did you register?

    Could weld a rod or tube on either side of the rack above the cab to elevate the mounting point of the cable to where it would come over the snorkel

    I used the techstream-act.exe file in the files from tonered that I grabbed. If you don't have them, give me the techstream ID and I can generate the reg key for you.

    And, in the meantime, with or without a limb-riser on the snorkle side, I already steer towards the driver side to lessen limb smackage on the snorkle side. My "pin-stripping" is more noticable on the driver's side as a result but...character!

    Last year I got pulled into a rut on a steep offroad climb and it pushed me right into a wall of dirt that demolished my driver fender. This was about 1 month after I installed my snorkel on the other side. I was so happy it didn't happen on that side lol

    So much for buying a house to save money. Right now, I'm looking at $14K owed to the gubment. Still waiting for my tax guy to finish my taxes tho, so hopefully it goes down more.
