I bought 2 while on Vacation in Yellowstone last fall. Got lucky with the batches. Both Batch 12 or or whatever batch was.Voted best Bourbon in the world a year or so back. I think....One for sippin, one for keeping.

I'll have the Booker's Night results here shortly - I need to download them from PowerBI again.

In the interim, I added a couple of other Booker's.

I also was gifted this super cool Booker's mini as a thank you for hosting the night. Barreled on December 13th, 1989 and bottled on May 13th, 1996.

Here are the results of Booker's Night - 2019 Batches.

I want to put a few things out there.

    1. We drank them in order and one at a time, so it wasn't blind.
    2. Teresa's was obviously first and I think the scores were a little suppressed to give some head-room going in to the next batches.
    3. Many folks were comparing to other Booker's batches in their experience (I was guilty of this - Teresa's scored low for a Booker's for me, but I still think is a very good bourbon) - we'll shore that up next time.
    4. Booker's Night originated as a way to get the guys together to try all the Booker's batches from a year. It was only about a week out from this one that I decided we'd formally score them and throw some data analytics at it. It was a great decision - everyone had fun with it. Next time, we need to add some more control to our process. Blind tasting, taste as a flight so they can be done side-by-side better/easier, stricter parameters around what we're testing, and, most importantly, adjusting the weights of each category. In hindsight, the palate really needs to account for more than 50% of the score. Probably closer to 60-65% at least.

Absolutely fun as hell, though. No one was aware that I was doing a Power BI data presentation and they were thoroughly impressed. I'll keep tweaking this basic framework and see what other tastings I can roll it out for. I had a talk with all three people from the Whiskey Crusaders. I helped develop a table for scores/notes/tags that they need to start capturing for everything that they review. If they can keep that consistent, I plan to eventually take the database of info and make a robust data analytics tool with a very intuitive UI. It could potentially become a subscription service item for them down the road. Long ways to get there, but we'll see!
