    Hello,

I just want to say I appreciate the help before hand, and this was in the "lighting" forum, but I wasn't getting any help. But before I go plugging wires into this truck because I didn't receive an installation guide. I have some questions about the where to plug stuff into, I contacted Xenon Depot for an installation manual, but I have received only one email from my first correspondance, and I was supplied with the Morimoto HID wiring schematic which is different. I'm tired of waiting for XD's Customer service to finally return one of my emails.

So here we go. I want to start with my question with the bulb wiring itself.

The (2) wires with red lines above them are the “Not Used” wires for internally wired systems? The (2) wires that are circled green are then connected to the (2) wires coming out of the ballast also circled green?

Next, the other wire coming out of the ballast, circled blue, plugs into the female plug coming from the negative lead from the relay harness?

The next wire I have a question about is coming out of the relay harness with a plug, circled purple. I want to confirm that this is the plug that should be connected to the oem plug that we took out of the existing halogen light?

The other wire I do not have any questions, that is the positive lead with a fuse.

Let me know if I am correct, but please tell me if my assumptions are incorrect.

Thank you @SnowSpartan . I can't tell you how many times I have opened that thread over the past weekend. Still haven't gotten through all of the 24+ pages yet.

Yes, you have that correct. First, I would carefully cut the rubber grommet open and toss the wiring you marked with red. It’s not needed and only clutters things. Connectors from ballast circled green go to connectors circled green at hid bulb. OEM connector to relay harness female connector circled purple. Relay harness male connector circled blue goes to ballast connector circled blue.
Btw you don’t need to run relay harness if this is a 35w kit. It’s a must for 55w kid though.

You got it right, green to green blue to blue, purple to OEM headlight plug, black to ground, red to positive terminal

Just got a message from Xenon Depot...

"This is *******, a member on TW forum. I saw your PM and found your email.

Hopefully, I can help you out here. Not sure why that again was looking at Morimoto's install guide. Here's a better guide. For your Tacoma, you'll want to go to page 7:

    http://artoflightindustries.com/xd/images/design/faq/hid-install-guide.pdf

You'll need those wires in red. Those wires will be used so you can plug and play your harness. Your blue and green wires are correct!

The Purple circle will go to the red lines. Although the purple circle looks like it can plug into your OEM plug in your truck, it won't connect properly. If you look inside the plug, the two metal pins are spaced differently. That is why you need those wires you colored red, to "adapt" to your headlight's plug.

Hopefully, it makes sense, if not, let me know. I assigned this ticket to myself so that as soon as you reply ****, it goes directly in my inbox for a faster and accurate response."

So turns out we do need to use those red wires. Gonna try the install tomorrow.

I just did the install per the diagram in the pdf in the previous post The headlights would not come on, granted I only did one side.

I did some voltage tests. Starting from the oem car harness, I get 13.8V. Next I tested the wires (red in previous pictures), and it read 13.8V when connected to the oem car harness. Next to test was the ballast. The red wires plugged into the ballast plug and I tested the plug coming from the ballast (circled blue in previous pictures), and I didn’t read any voltage coming out. I did get voltage at the relay harness that connects to the positive and negative lead.

I also tried the system not using the relay harness, the same ballast, also seen on page 7 of the manual above and the bulb lit. I didn’t have it lit for a second before unplugging as I know the ballasts for use with the relay harness is different from the ballast for use without the relay harness.

I did not try to trouble shoot the polarity issue because the manual only says to do this without the relay harness.

    Where am I going wrong?

Try turning that wire (blue) upside down. From my past experience with HID kits, sometimes they come connected upside down. If you look, you'll see a red and black wire going into one end. Make sure it lines up with the red and black wires on the plug you're connecting to
