2nd Gen OME Dakar hub to fender measurements

Well finally got around to more measurements today . Something looked off when I was washing the truck . Right rear 26 1/4 “ left rear 25 1/2” bottom of center cap to bottom of fender . I do have the spacer on the driver front for lean BUT :driver side front is 25” and passenger front 25 1/2” wonder if I need a new spacer ? @DrFunker @boogie3478 @EatSleepTacos. I do have a new frame and never had a crooked rear end until the frame swap even with the new OEM springs that came with the frame my rear was really crooked . So dealer felt bad ,I bought Dakar’s and dealer installed for free. Still low on the left rear . Also all body bushing were replaced with Energy Suspensions Bushings and new bed bolts . Could it be front spacer is worn on driver side causing right rear to be high . @OZ-T

 

I have a similar lean issue. Have been trying to figure it out. I am considering adding a block in the back to fix it.
Will more than likely take the spacer I have in the front out.

 

Yea , I still need to loosen and torque the Dakar’s and maybe a new spacer up front since I’m 1/2” low on driver side again .

 

2014 DCSB, OME 95R’s have been on about a week. 24 1/4 driver, 24 passenger. I carry 350-400 lbs of sliders, armor, winch and junk.

 

I have yet to get under my truck to figure this out because of the rain .

Update : still 1/2” low on drivers front with 1/4” spacer . Wheelers Off-road suggests a 3/8” spacer on the driver coil over . Rear left to right is pretty much level but the medium duty Dakar’s did not give me the lift I wanted so probably AAL in the future . I’m just tired of paying for labor I’m pretty much mechanically challenged

 

I'm going to be doing an install this weekend on the EL095R on my 2015.

Only thing I'm not quite sure on is what I need to lube on the new bushings for the install? I have this bushing kit from headstrong: https://www.headstrongoffroad.com/store/p513/Full_leaf_pack_bushing_kit.html

Do I need to only lube the outside of the small bushing metal sleeve or do I need to lube the outside of the bushing, too, where the bushing meets the sleeve in the leaf spring? To date I've seen 2 videos where they didn't use any lube at all, I've seen 2 videos where they only lube the outside of the small bushing metal inner sleeve before they place it, and I've seen 1 photo where it looked like everything got lube, outside of the bushings, inside of the bushings, etc.

What's the general consensus?

 

I lubed the S### out of everything with Lucas marine, inside & outside of sleeve and outside of bushings. Used greaseable bolts. My official poly bushing instructions said do not grease the outside of poly bushings. They don’t want them twisting in the shackles.

 

So you didn't follow that advice, right? Reading that, it sounds like I need to just grease the sleeve that goes inside the bushing and leave the outside of the bushings alone then.

 

Correct. I also drain and fill my transmission with Valvoline MaxLife and have run with scissors.

Passenger front 25 1/4”
Driver rear 25 5/8 “
Passenger rear 25 3/4
Dang near level. I prefer a 1” rake so maybe the Dakar AAL in the future

 

My truck seems like a bit of an oddball compared to some of these measurements.

Hey everyone, my stock leafs were inverted with no weight in the back, and I was due for some new tires, so I decided to install the springs along with

G63494 in the rear.

Full tank, empty bed -
Front: 21”
Rear: 24.5”

The truck rode rough on the original ‘01 Bilstein hardware, but I am surprised at how much I can feel every bump with the new hardware. The rake is obviously significant, and I’m not sure why it’s so much different. Any recommendations on how to proceed? I’m thinking I’ll take a leaf out as OME recommends, but maybe I just bought the wrong struts? Should I be installing a levelling kit up front or something (saw another posted saying those are bad for the suspension)? I’m new to all of this and kinda confused as to why I gained so much more lift than expected... I thought that my hardware had a 1.5” lift over stock (stock being the low sitting non TRD) and that the 2.25” lift of the Dakar’s would bring me up 3/4” and now I’m 3.5” of differential any advice would be appreciated.

 

OME AAL on the way with some anti squeak pads . Medium duty Dakar’s just not giving me the height I want .

 

I haven't been here in years, but I think some of you might appreciate some first hand experience with these leaf springs over a long period of time, hence this post...

I installed dakars on my 2nd gen sometime in 2013, and removed the 3rd leaf so my truck would sit level (885's up front). No complaints at first, it rode great at first and had nice articulation. I'm a carpenter by trade so I am constantly loading the bed, sometimes with up to ~1000lbs. Welp after 5ish years I noticed major problems with the leaf springs, admittedly I waited to long to address the problem, now I have broken springs on both sides to the point it is almost unsafe to drive. I guess what I'm trying to say is don't modify the leaf pack, don't pull out a spring unless you are willing to deal with consequences that the manufacturer never planned on.
