    Very nice!

This year was the first year I've had what I consider a "reasonable" salary. So we have been paying off a shit load of debt but haven't been able to focus on our vehicles. We still owe a couple thousand on the GX and now this guy. We own our Sable outright (2008, our spare car) but we owe on the other two currently.

    Nice!

I don’t buy into the Dave Ramsey philosophy people preach around here that you should only buy things in cash.

the big problem people have is overextending themselves and spending beyond their means.

there’s also something to be said for having reliable transportation vs some old junker you are always fixing

I was originally gonna finance then tundra but interest was like 4% so I just paid for it and kept the loan on my taco and bike that are around 2.5%.

    Right on.

The debt we have is mostly just my wife's student loan debt and some medical stuff. The medical stuff is all paid off and we are working on the student loans now. I have never had a credit card, ever. So, we didn't have any of that debt.

I also don't totally buy into Dave Ramsey but there is some merit in the things he says. However, it's not as cut and dry. I understand what he talks about can work, but he started off at a different altitude than 99% of the people who read his books and it's almost unfair for him to give the kind of advice he does.

I just can't wait to get my CISSP so I can look forward to maintaining my current salary, or better, for the foreseeable future.

I hate to say this, but...you kind of, sort of, sound like a "science nerd".

(Not that I would know what a "science nerd" was...)

    Is this a question?

PS - Vista is no longer supported/updated/patched. Yeet that computer as soon as possible and buy something from this century.

There are certain chipsets and processors that aren't officially supported by W10 and you probably have one of those. Therefore, the drivers windows is installing probably aren't right for your hardware but they might just "work", however poorly. Also, if your mainboard is truly toast, you're f*cked anyway. If you're worried about data, you can get a kit for cheap off Amazon to plug in your hold HDD to a new machine and pull data off it. As far as programs, they'll need re-installed. If they are programs not supported by W10 you'll have to suck it up and have to find something similar that is supported. If it's about having to buy those programs, quit being a cheap ass or figure it out. There may be something open source that will work, maybe not exactly alike, but will work.

This will only work if its a SATA hard drive. If the device is ancient enough that it has an IDE hard drive, first of all WHY?!?!?, you need a different kit.

Agree. I still run win 7 for a lot of stuff lol

I need to take the time to strip all the garbage out of my 10 image and maybe then it’ll be tolerable. The updates really piss me off tho

I think they updated Decrapifier to work with W10 again. I love that utility.

The issues are optical media is slow as fuck. Also encoding is resource intensive.

Personally I think FLAC is a waste of time unless you are putting some awesome sound system in the Tacoma.

Also a subscription like Apple Music or Spotify is way less effort lol

It sounds like your using poor drivers for whatever hardware your using. OR the disks you're trying to rip have some for of early tamper proofing that the software is somehow working around. You could, I don't know, but the music you want in digital form and save yourself a lot of time and effort.

Buy the digital version, download, convert file with something like VLC.

I download my mp3s and convert them to FLAC for the quality upgrade!
