    Hi All,

My dog ended up chewing the e-brake button and handle from my '16 Tacoma. Has anyone just replaced the handle and button itself? I don't need to buy a whole new lever mechanism. I need the button and cover.

Do you know if I can remove those and replace them with a "one size fits all"
    https://www.amazon.com/Aluminum-Ant...d_r=6SA638PYF2BKQF19P62T&psc=1&qid=1582144902

Or do I need to buy the whole mechanism?

OR, can I just switch the button?

    Thanks!

I'm not sure but I'd make the dog fix it
I had a lab pup completely destroy a new weathertech cargo mat in a brand new car, it sucks. You come back and they just look at you like "well what did you think was gonna happen" :D

Welcome to the forum. Have you searched for one in a junkyard? I’ve seen ads on Craigslist for trucks being parted out, worth a shot. This is a lot cheaper than what my son’s puppy did to his sofa, coffee table, easy chair! Good luck.

But are the rubber handle and the button easy to take off?

Im confused. It is $45 to replace the entire thing. Why waste time and effort replacing just the handle when the whole thing is so cheap?

If I can just unscrew the button and buy a new button for $5 that's cheaper than spending $45.

If I can just replace the handle and the button for a total of $20 that's cheaper than $45.

I don't believe in buying a replacement part to fix it and it then throw the other perfectly working one away, that's dealership mentality.

Plus, what am I gonna do with 1 extra lever mechanism?

It does however prevent future damage.

Have you been to the dealer parts department to get a price on the parts you need? Junkyard is likely your best best.

I see most of the OEM parts dealers have messed with the diagrams again. I couldn't even find a diagram with the handle online.

Did you end up replacing the emergency brake handle with a billet one?, i love billet aluminum so the link someone posted on your question got me to order one. Was it easy to pull the factory one out ?, and if you went with an aluminum type did it connect ok?
