I have a 2019 sport and I changed my grille to a pro when I got the truck and when I took it in for its first service check my dealer wouldn't perform the recall on the sensor cause I changed the grille from the factory style to the pro. A year later I got the pre col collision system malfunction warning. Has anyone had the same issue as far as your dealer not performing a recall cause you changed your grille

Did you use the OEM cover for the sensor?

There were many having trouble at first, then I think Toyota came out with a revision. I dont remember the details, but I want to say there was the option to have it disabled.

That's not always a sensor issue, that would be more like a cable issue. When the sensor is out of place, it won't usually say "visit your dealer" but when it says to "visit your dealer", most likely the cable needs to be looked at. I wouldn't specifically blame the grille for that issue.

When you change its calibrated position (lifting, changing out grille, etc.) it will sometimes give you a warning about cleaning the sensor or something like that.

Try cleaning your cover. I had a bug splat on mine.
    Never popped up again.

It started with the saying dirty sensor I cleaned it and the issue was intermittent and then the other day I went to go out and soon as I started the truck it came up with the visit dealer message
