    ***UPDATED SYSTEM IN POST 7***

Hey guys check out the Wall Mounted Pressure Washer System I have in my garage. I’ve also listed everything you need with the exception of the PW to do a set up like this. It’s freaking awesome and makes washing the Tacoma so much more enjoyable.

Good stuff, I did a similar project at the beginning of last year and I can't recommend it enough. I think I got that same inlet hose from Amazon. Any body reading, if you do a similar setup to this one of the most valuable components there is the swivel on the gun. That alone will improve the user experience of using a pressure washer ten fold especially if you've got a cheap PW hose.

Nice setup....but am I the only one concerned about a pressure washer/water being that close to electrical outlet??

Saw that and wondered if it was a GFCI. When I installed my setup I knew I had to upgrade the outlet to a 20 amp because when using a foam cannon you can easily tip the current over 15 amps. I'm pretty sure you can install a regular outlet fed off a GFCI which OP may have.

That outlet was not GFCI because it single outlet dedicated to the sprinkler timer, so I changed it out to a 15 amp GFCI. The one with the reset buttons.

gorram - just a FYI because I don’t know your internal electrical wiring or your breaker set up but you mentioned you changed your 15 amp outlet to a 20 amp outlet. It’s not as simple as that to get 20 amps from the breaker to the outlet. 1. The breaker in the box has to be 20 amp. 2. The wiring has to be 12 gauge.

Correct that is what I did. To be more specific since I was tapping the water supply for the PW inlet where the water heater was I went ahead and tapped hot too and installed a hot/cold hose bib. The best spot in the small utility shed was directly over an existing outlet. No way was that going to work, luckily this outlet was on it's own breaker. Swapped it for a 20 amp, already had plenty of 12 awg on hand so i moved it to another wall where I could have two outlets since I was also installing a retractable power cord reel.

Now when the hose bib does an inevitable drip it will be dropping right onto a metal box that has bare wire hanging out of it where I pulled the receptacle out. Dead of course but it looks nice and ominous.

Looks like a great setup, I love the versatility. I know it varies based on the water in your area, but about how many washes do you get out of a pair of filters? I've been wanting to build one of these but I'm a little worried I'm just going to blow through media since our water is so hard.

I've got a similar setup minus the water deionizer. The more I looked into it the more I realized it's likely not worth it. It seems that most people that use them end up abandoning them for the cost of the resin refills. I can't recall the number but some are paying $5-10 per wash and that is only using it for the final rinse, which is all you likely need it for anyway. There's an English guy on youtube that has an RV channel that has a mod for a much larger resin canister that makes it more economical but nothing will help if the water going in is very hard.

Bottom line is to try and stay out of the sun on extremely hot days if you can, putting up a carport may be a more worthy option in the longrun. Maybe look into "rinseless" washing products since by design they soften the water you're working with.

Yeah, I've looked into various options and I like the idea of a bigger canister and buying the resin in bulk. Just requires more piecing things together. While I'm not looking to blow a bunch of $ on DI water it would be very beneficial to me. Carport is not an option and staying out of the sun is not always possible due to how our property is laid out. We also often wash 2-3 cars back to back and saving time on drying could be a huge help. Lastly, one big pet peeve I have is water spots in my engine bay after cleaning. It's really tough to dry an engine bay so having DI water for cleaning the engine bay would be a huge help as well - especially for the 4th car which basically has a "show car" engine bay.

Engine bay should be even easier to manage than the exterior of a car in the sun, obviously you don't want to be cleaning it while it's hot. Have you ever used a rinseless product like ONR or Wolfgang Uber? When mixed with tap water it neutralizes the hard water enough that you can even get away with it drying on a surface if you get distracted and you can come back and wipe it right off. Even if you like to wash with a traditional foaming soap for the exterior of the car you can use a rinseless solution as a drying aid to spray on in between rinsing and drying with a towel.

The sun drying the water out before I can dry it is not the issue. The issue is having to dry it vs not. Our water is very hard so EVERY drop of water that you don't get with the towel will leave water spots. It's nearly impossible to dry every drop in an engine bay since there are so many nooks and crannies. Even the exterior, we have to either use compressed air to get every bit of water out of every crack, body line, door jamb...etc or dry the car very, very well and then let it fully dry (the hidden nooks and crannies) before drying. If you leave any water in those nooks and crannies then drive the car the water comes out, streaks along the paint and then you have water spots.

I have not tried those products specifically, but I have tried using various quick detailer type products as drying aids. They work well for the body panels but it still does nothing for the nooks and crannies that hold water from the rinse but which don't receive the drying aid product when sprayed.

I don't mind drying the cars. I mind having to dry every freaking inch of them - anywhere body panels meet, anywhere there is trim/molding, the little gap between tire and lip of the wheel... Sorry, I'm working myself up over here!

This is the largest resin tank/ best bang for your buck depending on your water hardness of course. https://dirinse.com/product/d-i-rinse-pro-100-system/
A lot of money up front, but it beats changing the resin in the smaller tanks every ten washes. I've got one, but I also have a whole house filter with separate sediment and charcoal filters and a separate salt/resin water softener https://aquasureusa.com/collections...h-iron-reducing-fine-mesh-resin-48-000-grains. I feel like Adam Sandler from the Waterboy when people ask my about my setup.

I researched a lot about those Kranzles that Matt at Obsessed Garage has helped develop. Someday...Someday...
