I haven't installed mine yet, but the instructions seem pretty complete.

if I installed these over again, I would shorten the wiring. I had about 4 feet to bundle up. Not a huge deal, but still. Simple install though. A couple taps and a few holes and bam!

Nicely done by both of you! I had TRDSparks add the light kit to the supercharger I bought during last fall's GB, and I picked-up the same/similar switch from Amazon. ALL of it is sitting in my garage, waiting for warmer weather to install.

I just need a sanity check here guys, I was going to install mine this morning and I do not have a 7/16th bit. And 7/16th is a pretty large hole, do I really need to go that big?

    It's a never ending $100-$200 a week thing & still going.
As far as I remember the 7/16 hole is in the middle and is for the wire. It's not required to be that big but you would need to feed the wire loom on from the underside.

The loom is 3/8" if I remember correctly. That's gives you 1/16 clearance. You could always just use a 3/8" bit and then ream the sides to make it fit. Would take an extra 5 seconds per hole

Hmmm...I really late to this party @adio, but I just did an hour's worth of research into this EXACT F150 kit because I love the OEM look of the switch. I personally prefer the Toyota lights, but I really wanted that weatherproof, flush mounted switch. From what you're saying about having to hold it down, it sounds like only a momentary switch? That's a bummer if it is. I did come across some F150 owners saying that in order to get the lights to work with the in-bed switch, Ford has to do some "programming" to their truck. I wonder if they have it hooked up and programmed so that the switch is momentary, but a double-press or press-and-hold would make the lights stay on.

Definitely you need to install a relay if you want to keep the lights on without holding down the push button. It seems that this device is not a switch so you will need a relay wired to hold the light on. Better yet, if you use a timer relay so the light goes off after a preset time (says 15 minutes), so you won't care to remember if lights were turned off, as they will turned off automatically after preset time had elapsed.

I think that for the Tacoma application you will need a relay.

Definitely is a Dealer Add on, very popular BTW. But I ordered my truck from factory and it didn't come with that lights. They're approved by Toyota as part of OEM catalog list.

Does anyone know how many amps the LED bed lights draw?

not enough to worry about......mine are hooked into dome where it dims like cab does. Have cover on bed so they are like trunk lights. Still haven't changed to a bed switch and separate circuit.

The reason I ask is I'm considering installing an LED strip under the bed rail and would like to tie them in to the same location that these lights (per install instructions ) and then be able to use the bed light switch from cab. I estimate about 1.7 amp draw from he LED strip (4.8W per metre), so I would like to compare theit amp draw to the cargo LED lights. I want to avoid overloading the factory wiring. Thanks.

I just ordered a TRD OR and put this in as part of the order. The dealer said accessories that go in the order are covered by the Standard toyota warranty and those put in later by the dealer have a 1 year warranty. It's worth getting this one in on new orders if the DIY seems daunting. The part is definitely cheaper than having it on the list, but I wanted to avoid the install.
