For parts it’s a $250 fix if you do it yourself.

Did it about a year ago

if you don’t have a body lift I can tell you that you’ll likely have to pull the bed. It’s tight under there.

Figures, had the bed off last summer to swap @HolyHandGrenade old one on.

Real question what does that do, and what happens if I let it go for a while? Thanks for the link and follow up Craig, certainly appreciated.

It throws a CEL and the codes. Mine did it for a long time & I just kept clearing the code with my scangauge. May also affect MPG’s a bit but I never really pay much attention to that.
Ultimately in Pa you’ll need to fix it to pass inspection.

Not if he lives in a county that doesn't do emissions. I've had several vehicles with CEL's go through, but the counties I live/lived in do not do emissions.

    So this happened.

tldr; I may soon have most of a 1/2 ton transmission jack available for sale, cheap.

I'm working on one of our cars and needed a transmission jack. Found one I liked on Amazon and ordered it. A few days later it arrived, mostly; the wooden shipping crate had one end completely blown out and MIA, covered over with a piece of cardboard. Naturally there were missing pieces once I opened it up. Went 'round and 'round with Amazon, them insisting that I package it back up if I want a replacement, me telling them there is no way to repackage it because a big piece of the packaging has gone missing (I could fix it but I figure this is on them, not me). All I was asking them to do was send me the missing bits. Apparently that is not possible with some of the stuff they sell. They couldn't even put me in contact with the manufacturer -- and I've been unable to locate them via teh interwebz.

Needless to say I was not happy with this outcome. So eventually I found a way to send an email to Amazon. They responded by telling me they're shipping me an entire new jack, totally free of charge! Now that's an outcome I can live with!

The upshot is that I should soon have a 1/2 ton transmission jack available, cheap. It's missing one of the weight bearing iron wheels that go on the front (non-steering) end, plus a couple of circlips to keep them on the axle. Or you could drill holes and use cotter pins as the picture shows; the axles on my unit have grooves for a circlip but no holes for cotter pins. Also the two L-shaped plates for the transmission cradle are off somewhere in damaged-in-transit-land. I have located a near match for the wheel online and I figure the L brackets can be fabricated for not too much fuss.

This all somewhat hinges on how much of a jack I receive the second time. Even so there should be 95% of a jack available. See generic pic below. If anyone's interested please PM me. Local-ish only, I'm not shipping this thing! I figure it weighs north of 80 lbs.

Gmornin all. Leaving shortly to check out Lukaszk's Tacoma for my son. He stationed in Germany currently. He started looking on Clist for a Tacoma, and finding scams. I told him to look on TW.
Wish me luck, looks to be a well documented vehicle, I'll find out.....

Man was I PO'd last night that I couldn't just drive my expensive 19 billion dollar industry off roading truck right up to the water's edge to get a better view of those Snow Geese! That's my land cuz I pay the taxes, regardless of anyone else's opinions or collective shares in the ownership and regulation of what it should be used for!

Tyranny and domination, I tell you.

Ohhh, and I also wanted to take my sports car (part of a 269 TRILLION dollar industry you know, 269 with 12 zeros behind it) and drive faster than the speed limit. How dare the man tell me what speed I should drive on roads I own because I pay the taxes! That's such dookee. I'm tired of people imposing their opinions and preconceptions on me. I'm a part of the people who spend that 269 trillion and that means that the government needs to hear what I say. I can drive safely at 4-5 times the legal speed limit. I'm part of a brotherhood of fellow sports car enthusiasts and we never break the law anyway. And I commonly come across roads that aren't being used by anyone and there's no cops around and I just feel like I should be able to go whatever speed I want if I'm not bothering anyone else at that moment by doing so.

    Bhwaaa ha ha ha.

Interesting on the snow geese. They poop all over the place, who picks up the poop??

Anyway, I am with you. Prescription drugs kill people and radiation treatment can kill body cells . Make them all illegal. Computers screens are bad for the eyes, ban them. Your vehicle that you drive legally and at the speed limit has the potential to kill people or speed, ban it. You have a potential to use your cell phone while driving, take away your cell phone, vehicle and license. All you of you, because you have the potential to do illegal activities and not everyone follows the law. In fact, we really don't know what you do in your house, we need to inspect your residence every day. Plus, the food you eat, it may not be approved or healthy, and really, "it is bad for all of us". We will tell you what you can and cannot eat. Additionally, we will ration the amounts.

In fact, you are a member of TW and we know there are off-roaders there. Yep, you are one of them. Thinking about it, those terrorist you mentioned in your first post; they typically use Toyota's overseas in various countries. You must be a terrorist....

I am a reasonable person, but you have taken it to extremes. I am willing to sit down and talk with you or anyone and hear issues. Real issues. I am a balanced individual that understands there are two sides to the story. I am willing to work with anyone with a real issue and resolve the issue.

In fact, I appreciate when others that don't support off-roading speak up. It allows us to communicate and find a reasonable solution. I do not support all locations being off-road locations. I do not support all locations being closed off.
