Just drop by the dealer, they’ll get you what you need, they are around $4 each(or they were the last time I purchased them). Spark plugs are recommended every 30k on the V6, they use copper plugs. I believe the 2.7 uses iridium plugs and the recommended interval is 100k.

Denso is a brand. The v6s come from the factory with 3 denso plugs in one head and 3 ngk in the other. When you go to the dealer and get replacements you get 6 Denso brand plugs.

    Or atleast my dealer.

Denso and NGK are basically the same, its easier just to look for NGK plugs, as thats what even the dealers sell.

If you suspect an oil issue and you have an 06 a compression test is still a good idea because of the head gasket issues...

why not run something like chevron delo instead of rotella?

at least delo is CK-4/SN, so in theory it should be easier on your cats.

    Here's a 30k checklist I puked out a while back:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...al-transmission-30k-service-checklist.368542/

It'll cover part numbers for gasket / crush washers and oil amounts.

FWIW I recently hit 120k and to date:
Cabin and Air Filters: 2x a year or as needed.
Every 5k: Mobil 1 5w-30 w/ OEM Filter. Grease drive line. Rotate tires.
Every 30K: Plugs, Transfer Case, Diff Oil in both boxes, MT gear oil.
70k: Front and Rear Shocks & Leaf Springs - 3'rd Gen OEM TRD OR. New front brake pads.
    90k: Coolant flush.
    115k: Rear U-Joints.
    120k: Serpentine belt.

    Planned:
Power Steering Fluid, Rotor's & Pads at 150k.
Coolant every 70k or 10 years after the initial flush at 90k: 160k-230k etc.
Serpentine belt, idlers / Pulleys, Clutch and associated accouterments at 250k *IF THE TOB MAKES IT*!

That's it. Don't over think it.

    EDIT: Welcome to TW OP!

Honestly the rotella was cheap and easy to find. Also, a large number of subaru owners run it. Especially in turbo applications. So I never really looked at the delo. Rotella does make a t6 multi vehicle now. But I’ve not known anyone that’s used it.

Hey guys just an update. I checked my oil this morning and it was close to the bottom dash on the normal oil level. So its burning oil. It still has golden color in it. What I will do today then is buy 2 quarts of the mobile 1 synthetic oil that I'm currently using and top off the oil. I will change the oil filter and the air filter. And I'll go get those NGK spark plugs and I'm taking it to the mechanic next week to do a compression/leakdown test. What do you guys think?

OP there is a search function in the upper right corner of the forum, it looks like a tiny magnifying glass. If you can’t find your answers here for Tacoma stuff then something is amiss.

Some likely causes of oil loss includes worn/torn valve stem guide(s); worn rings; oil leak; and bad PCV valve.
If due to worn rings or worn stem guides, it may help going to thicker oil. It helped some on daughters 06 I4 Camry with worn out stem guides. OEM calls for 5/30; went with 10/30 for two years, and am now trying 5/40. Car burns about half a quart every 3K. Not too bad, but hope to reduce it further with 5/40.
