I did a similar thing to many of the other diy full-length drawer slides out there using skateboard bearings bolted to the sides and steel tubing as the slides.
Also, I used sande ply from home depot because it's what they had and is relatively lightweight per sheet compared to birch ply. It's supposed to be better for applications where it would potentially get wet but I chose to prime and paint it all to be safe.

I don't have plans because I hate using cad software lol, but I uploaded a bunch of photos for you!

There's some nice stuff in here!

It's not a 2nd gen and it's not quite done.
That middle hole is gonna have a door on it eventually and shelves in a cabinet to serve as a kitchen. The door will open downward so it can be used as a work surface.
The fridge slide has a slide under it with the stove on it.
The step ladder is going to be replaced with steps built into the door. And a tent needs to be made for the pop top.
And lots and lots of other things.

This is great! Thank you. I can’t really tell what I’m looking at on pic 6. Is that a latch to keep the drawer closed?

The corners, was that for reinforcement? Did you also bolt them(the corners) to the bed? I also have the TC bed stiffeners so I will be anchoring to them as well.

Just out of curiosity what was your final cost? I am ball parking everything for my purchases next month. I will be sealing the wood and then just throwing my bed mat on top.

Thanks again! These photos are helpful.

Yeah, that's the inside of the latch and how clean I got it to sit in the plywood when the drawer face was installed. The metal bracket I made for the bottom of the drawer frame was so that I could eliminate the need for plywood on the bottom to keep the maximum amount of storage height as possible. I only needed to do this in the front since the back is boxed in with plywood.

I used several rubber feet (last photo) on the bottom of the whole thing to keep it raised from the truck bed surface so that if water gets in it will flow under it all instead of soaking in.

I'm not entirely sure what my total cost is of materials but I would guess around $300.

You just sleep with the tailgate open? Or you use a tent or tarp or something.
    Always just slept diagonally.

My dual drawer system is coming together. ARE cap is being built now. Should be done by the middle of March. I’m looking forward to the finished product.

I am. I keep a close eye on things. Half the reason I painted it so soon is I’ll be able to identify problems sooner.
The 3M CV62F tape I used is crazy strong. I abraded the aluminum, cleaned it with alcohol and prepped it with 3M adhesion promoter and then used pressure on the tape after it was applied.
So, it should be pretty strong.

How did I not see this thread when I was searching...
Some really nice stuff in here. Wish I could have taken inspiration. Made what I made at the time with the limited tools and space I have.
Had to bum around several friends garages to finish this.I still need to secure the box, and finish the sides so I can get a nice mattress in there.
It's worked so far. One side is for cooking and one side is for my fishing gear.

A mix of pictures out of order.

    PS:
It's a total game changer. I love the drawers. Cooking something up is super easy and everything is organized.
Also makes packing for a trip less stressful. Most of your stuff is packed.
    Really a game changer.

    Sick!
Crazy what I'm finding in this thread. I spent a week looking for people with this set up and found barely anything.
I'm trying to do this but night need to ditch my RTT. Very creative camper set up too.

How do you like the Contractor cap? Is it water tight? Hows condensation?

    Just the basics
So far I've not had any water intrusion. Condensation on the other hand is a different story. This winter in Death Valley I had quite a bit. In the summer I can keep the sliders open and no condensation. I would just open up the back and side doors to dry things out. It wasn't dripping down while I slept but noticable in the morning.

I'm very happy with the cap. I sleep inside but I've been having thoughts about getting a Kodiak tent. Crom has one, taco doc(used to be a big influence here on TW) and Jimbob are both rocking Shiftpods I believe. Funny how things work out that way.

@nkg What is the metal covering on the end of the wood called? I've seen that in a few places, makes it look clean and I assume helps protect the wood from chips or what not on the edges.

Looks like flat stock aluminum on the drawers and angle on the platform. You can get it at HD or many hdwr stores.
